Artur Silva de Pomoceno (born 1 May 1997) is a Brazilian badminton player. [1]

Contents

Career

Pomoceno started playing badminton in 2008 for the Rio de Janeiro social project. In 2013, he won the South America Badminton Championships, and in 2014 he was a runner-up. [1] In 2014, he also won the bronze medal at the Pan Am Junior Badminton Championships in the boys' singles event, and in 2015 he won the silver medal. [2] [3] In 2016, he won the silver medal at the Pan Am Badminton Championships in the men's singles event. [4] At the 2018 South American Games, Pomoceno claimed four medals, 2 golds in the men's doubles and team event; and 2 silvers in the men's singles and mixed doubles event. [5]

He trains at the Orange County Badminton Club, which is founded by his grandfather, Don Chew.

Mitchel Arthur Wongsodikromo is a Surinamese badminton player and coach. He competed for Suriname at three Pan Am Games: 2003 Pan American Games, 2007 Pan American Games & the 2011 Pan American Games. As a very young badminton player of the club T.N.F. in Suriname Mitchel Wongsodikromo was an exceptional talent and won numerous juniors titles and was soon selected to represent his country abroad winning several juniors medals at Caribbean, Central American and South American events. Much of his success was with his doubles partner Virgil Soeroredjo.

Osleni Guerrero Velazco is a Cuban badminton player. He is the first Cuban badminton player to win a medal in the Pan American Games. Guerrero also competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Kim Astrup Sørensen is a Danish badminton player. He was the men's doubles gold medalists at the 2018 European Championships and the 2023 European Games with his partner Anders Skaarup Rasmussen. He also won the bronze medal at the World Championships in 2021 and later a silver medal in 2023. Astrup joined the Denmark winning team at the 2016 Thomas Cup in Kunshan, China, where he and his teammates beating Indonesia 3–2 in the final. Together with Rasmussen, he reached a career high of World number 5 in September 2018.

Daniel Vasconcellos Paiola is a Brazilian badminton player. He became the first Brazilian badminton player to win an individual medal in the Pan American Games when he won a bronze in the men's singles event at the 2011 Games, losing in the semi-finals to Guatemalan Kevin Cordón. He has medaled ten at the Pan American Badminton Championships, and is a one-time national champion.

Ygor Coelho de Oliveira is a Brazilian badminton player. He won the Pan Am Junior Badminton Championships six times in the boys' singles and four times in the mixed doubles event with Lohaynny Vicente. Oliveira placed 27th in the world junior ranking and went on to compete at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. He won his first senior international title at the 2014 Puerto Rico International in the men's singles event. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and became the first Brazil's male Olympic badminton player. He clinched three gold medals at the 2018 South American Games in the men's singles, doubles, and team event. Coelho won a gold medal in the men's singles at the 2019 Lima Pan American Games.

Katherine Wynter is a Jamaican badminton player. She won the 2016 Jamaica International tournament in the women's doubles event partnered with Ruth Williams. Wynter was the bronze medalists in the mixed doubles at the 2016 Pan Am Badminton Championships partnered with Dennis Coke, and also in the team event and women's doubles at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games. She competed at the 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Hugo Lemos Arthuso is a Brazilian male badminton player. He competed at the Pan American Games in 2011 and 2015.

Iván León But is a Chilean badminton player. In 2015, he competed at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. In 2016, he became the men's doubles runner-up at the Chile International tournament partnered with Bastián Lizama and the champion in the mixed doubles event with Camila Macaya. He also won two bronze medals at the 2016 Pan Am Badminton Championships in the men's singles and doubles event. Dennis Coke is a Jamaican badminton player who competed at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore. In 2009, he won the boys' singles and doubles at the All Jamaica Junior Championships. At the BWF International tournament, he was the men's doubles runner-up at the 2015 Carebaco International and mixed doubles runner-up at the 2017 Jamaica International. He also won the bronze medal at the 2016 Pan Am Badminton Championships in the mixed doubles event partnered with Wynter. In 2017, he won the Jamaican National Badminton Championships in the men's singles and doubles event partnered with Anthony McNee. Coke was part of the national team that won the men's team bronze at the 2018 Pan Am Men's Team Championships. In 2018, he competed at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast.

Jaqueline Maria Lopes Lima is a Brazilian badminton player from Joca Claudino Esportes badminton club. She joined the Brazil national badminton team in 2016, and in 2017 she competed in the mixed team event at the 2017 Pan Am Badminton Championships where the team won silver medal. She won her first senior international title at the 2017 Brazil International Challenge tournament partnered with Sâmia Lima. Lima participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, and was part of the team Theta won the bronze medal in the mixed team event. At the 2019 Lima Pan American Games, she won two bronze medals in the women's and mixed doubles events.

Christo Popov is a French badminton player who affiliate with Fos club. He was the boys' doubles European U15 and U17 Junior Champions, also won the boys' singles silver medals at the 2018 European and 2019 World Junior Championships. He reached a career high as boys' singles World Junior number 1 in January 2020. He then clinched the boys' singles title at the 2020 European Junior Championships. In 2024, he became the first Frenchman to reach the semi-finals of the All England Open.

Fabrício Ruan Rocha Farias is a Brazilian badminton player from Joca Claudino Esportes badminton club. He won the bronze medals at the 2019 Pan American Games in the men's doubles with his brother, Francielton Farias, and also in the mixed doubles with Jaqueline Lima. He later claimed the silver medal in the men's doubles at the 2023 Pan American Games with Davi Silva.
