The Assembly Executive and Review Committee is a standing committee of the Northern Ireland which was established under the St Andrews Agreement to conduct reviews of the "operational aspects" of the assembly and executive. [1] [2]
The committee has written reports which led to the establishment of the Department of Justice and the reduction in the number of departments. [3] [4]
Currently the committee is reviewing the veto that has enabled the assembly and executive to collapse. [5]
The committee met for the first time in the 2022–2027 Assembly on 20 March 2024. [6]
