The women's 200 metres T12 event at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, took place between 6 and 7 September 2024.
The T12 classification is for visually impaired athletes with a LogMAR range from 1.50-2.60, and/or a maximum visual acuity range of 10 degrees. Athletes may choose to run with a guide. [1] [2]

The men's 200 metres at the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships was held at the QEII Stadium from 22 to 29 January
Mateusz Michalski is a visually impaired sprinter from Poland. He competed at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Paralympics and won a gold in the 200 metres and a silver in the 100 metres in 2012. His time of 21.56 s in the 200 m set a new world record.
Mozambique sent a delegation to compete at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 to 18 September 2016. This was the country's second time competing at a Summer Paralympic Games after making its debut at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Mozambique was represented by one athlete, Edmilisa Governo, a short-distance sprinter. She competed in two events, the women's 100 metres T12 competition and the women's 400 metres T12. Governo reached the semi-finals of the women's 100 metres T12 and took Mozambique's first Paralympic Games medal in the women's 400 metres T12 by placing third in the final of the competition.
The T/F 11 categorisation of athletics events, for athletes with the highest level of visual impairment. at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, take place at the Rio Olympic Stadium from September 8. A total of 19 events are contested in the classifications for which T/F11 athletes are eligible. This includes a number of T/F12 events in which T/F11 athletes are entitled to compete.
The Women's 100 metres T12 event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics took place at the Estádio Olímpico João Havelange on 8 and 9 September. It features 15 athletes from 11 countries.
Edmilsa Governo is a Mozambican athlete, who won a bronze medal in the women's 400 metres T12 event at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. She also won a gold medal in the 200 metres T12 event at the 2015 African Games, and a bronze medal in the 400 metres T12 event at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships.
The Women's 200m athletics events for the 2024 Summer Paralympics will take place at the Stade de France from 30 August to 7 September, 2024. A total of 7 events will be contested over this distance.
