Attadale is a riverside suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Melville.

Contents

It was the first subdivision of A.P. Matheson's Melville Water Park Estate. Attadale was named after an estate in Scotland situated on the south side of Loch Carron.

The suburb is located between the central business district and Fremantle along the southern side of the Swan River. Its extensive foreshore has many open spaces for residents and visitors including a large public open space along Burke Drive where residents can take their dogs for recreational activities.

Facilities

Attadale Tennis Club (also known as St Joseph Pignatelli Tennis Club) is a parish club providing tennis facilities (with six synthetic courts), and was located on the corner of Wichmann Road, and Galloway Street, although the tennis courts have since been demolished to make room for a new church.[ clarification needed ]

Nathan Mitchell Coulter-Nile is an Australian cricketer who has played at One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International level for the Australian national side. Domestically, he is contracted to Western Australia and the Melbourne Stars. From Perth, Western Australia, Coulter-Nile attended Aquinas College, and represented the state under-17 and under-19 teams, later going on to play three youth ODI matches for the Australian national under-19 team. Having held a rookie contract from the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) for several seasons, he made his debut at state level during the 2009–10 season, and has since become a regular selection in Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers' fast bowling attacks. Melville Senior High School is a public co-educational high school located in Melville, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. Opened in 1960, as of 2021 the school had an enrolment of 1,399 students from Year 7 to Year 12, with its catchment area covering most of the City of Melville.

Thomas Ian Francis Triffitt is an Australian cricketer who has played for Tasmania, Western Australia, Hobart Hurricanes and the Perth Scorchers. Triffitt attended the Australian Cricket Academy, and went on to play for the Australian under-19 cricket team, serving as the team's wicket-keeper at the 2010 Under-19 World Cup. He made his debut at state level during the 2010–11 season, and played regularly over the following seasons as a replacement for Tim Paine.

A right-arm off spinner, he toured India with the Australian under-19 team in September and October 2011, taking eight wickets from six matches in a quadrangular tournament involving the Australian, Indian, Sri Lankan, and West Indian under-19 teams. At the 2012 Under-19 World Cup, he was Australia's first-choice spinner, ahead of Victoria's Ashton Agar, and took eleven wickets from six matches, with his best figures 4/28 against Nepal.

Peter Hatzoglou is an Australian cricketer. Hatzoglou was born in Perth, Western Australia, to a father whose family came from Kozani in Greece, and a mother from North Macedonia. He is known for his idiosyncratic bowling action, ability to bowl topspinners, sliders and googlies as well as the ability to bowl from a high release point at high pace.
