Aureispira is a Gram-negative and aerobic genus from the family of Saprospiraceae. [1] [2] [3] [4] Aureispira gets its energy from a process called ixotrophy. [5] Using this process, Aurespira can acquire energy from other micro-organisms by attaching grappling hooks to the flagella of bacteria and reeling them in to puncture the bacteria's plasma membranes. This allows it to collect food for itself when there is not sufficient food sources available in the environment. [6]
Rapidiothrix is a genus from the family of Flammeovirgaceae with one known species. Rapidiothrix bacteria produces the antibiotics ariakemicin A and ariakemicin B.
Rapidithrix thailandica is a bacterium from the genus of Rapidithrix which has been isolated from the coastline from the Andaman Sea in Thailand. Rapidithrix thailandica produces an antibacterial amino phenyl pyrrolidone.
Arcicella is a genus of aerobic bacteria from the family of Spirosomaceae.
Cyclobacterium is a mesophilic, neutrophilic, chemoorganotrophic and aerobic bacterial genus from the family of Cyclobacteriaceae. Cyclobacterium bacteria occur in marine habitats
Aureispira marina is a bacterium from the genus of Aureispira which has been isolated from a marine sponge and an algae from the coastline of Thailand.
Aureispira maritima is a bacterium from the genus of Aureispira which has been isolated from barnacle debris.
