The 2008–09 UEFA Champions League was the 54th edition of Europe's premier club football tournament and the 17th edition under the current UEFA Champions League format. The final was played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on 27 May 2009. It was the eighth time the European Cup final has been held in Italy and the fourth time it has been held at the Stadio Olimpico. The final was contested by the defending champions, Manchester United, and Barcelona, who had last won the tournament in 2006. Barcelona won the match 2–0, with goals from Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi, securing The Treble in the process. Bate is a village in western Slovenia in the Municipality of Nova Gorica. It is located on the Banjšice Plateau. It is part of the Gorizia area of the wider traditional region of the Slovenian Littoral, and is now part of the Gorizia Statistical Region. It includes the hamlets of Dolenji Konec, Gorenji Konec, Na Placu, and Breščaki in the main settlement, as well as Čafarini, Humarji, Sveto, Ježevec, Madoni, Jelaršče, Pičulini, Podlaka, Sedevčiči, and Čeferinovšče.

Humphrey Bate was an American harmonica player and string band leader. He was the first musician to play old-time music on Nashville-area radio. Bate and his band, which had been given the name "Dr. Humphrey Bate & His Possum Hunters" by Opry founder George D. Hay, were regulars on the Grand Ole Opry until Bate's death in 1936. The band's recordings, while scant, are considered some of the most distinctive and complex string band compositions in the old-time genre.
