Botley Wood and Everett's and Mushes Copses is a 352.7-hectare (872-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Fareham in Hampshire. [1] [2]
Botley Wood is nationally outstanding for butterflies, with more than 30 breeding species, including pearl-bordered fritillary, white-letter hairstreak, dark green fritillary and purple emperor. Everett's and Mushes Copses have a rich flora, with over fifty species of flowering plants typical of ancient woodlands. [3]
Old Winchester Hill is a 66.2-hectare (164-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Hampshire. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I, and a national nature reserve. Part of it is a scheduled monument.
Boulsbury Wood is a 119.8-hectare (296-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Dorset and Hampshire. The site is west of Fordingbridge.
Chiddingfold Forest is a 542.5-hectare (1,341-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Chiddingfold in Surrey and West Sussex. One part of it, Fir Tree Copse, is a nature reserve which is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust
Vann Lake and Ockley Woods is a 57.8-hectare (143-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Ockley in Surrey. Vann Lake is part of Vann Lake and Candy's Copse, a nature reserve managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust.
River Hamble Country Park is a 144.1-hectare (356-acre) Local Nature Reserve which runs along the west bank of the River Hamble between the villages of Botley and Bursledon in Hampshire. It is owned by Hampshire County Council and managed by Hampshire Countryside Service. It is part of Solent and Southampton Water Ramsar site and Special Protection Area, and of Solent Maritime Special Area of Conservation. Part of it is in Upper Hamble Estuary and Woods, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Plashett Park Wood is a 157.6-hectare (389-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest between Lewes and Uckfield in East Sussex.
Park Corner Heath is a 2.9-hectare (7.2-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest about 1.2 miles (2 km) south of East Hoathly, adjacent to the A22 main road between Uckfield and Eastbourne in East Sussex. It is managed by Butterfly Conservation.
Briddleford Copses is a 167.2-hectare (413-acre) Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC) which is south of Wootton Bridge on the Isle of Wight in Britain. The site was designated an SAC in 1995 in recognition of the internationally important breeding population of Bechstein's bat that are resident there. The majority of the copses form part of the Briddlesford Nature Reserve, owned and managed by the People's Trust for Endangered Species (PTES), a charitable organisation.
Pamber Forest and Silchester Common is a 341.7-hectare (844-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Tadley in Hampshire. Pamber Forest and Upper Inhams Copse is managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and Pamber Forest is a Local Nature Reserve.
Briddlesford Nature Reserve consists of 158 hectares of land on the Isle of Wight that is composed of a complex of different habitats, including woodland, arable farmland, lowland meadow, parkland, pond, hedgerow and grazing marsh. The reserve encompasses a majority of the Briddlesford Copses Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC) together with about 50 hectares of farmland. The reserve is owned by People's Trust for Endangered Species (PTES) and managed to preserve and enhance its biodiversity value.
Grendon and Doddershall Woods are a 67.1-hectare (166-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Grendon Underwood in Buckinghamshire. The local planning authorities are Aylesbury Vale District Council and Buckinghamshire County Council.

Sturt Copse is a 6.5-hectare (16-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Oxford in Oxfordshire.
Butter Wood is a 133-hectare (330-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) east of Basingstoke in Hampshire. Part of Up Nately LNR, which is designated a Local Nature Reserve, is in the SSSI.
Martin and Tidpit Downs is a 367.5-hectare (908-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Fordingbridge in Hampshire. Martin Down is a 341-hectare (840-acre) national nature reserve and an area of 115 hectares is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I. Bokerley Dyke, a prehistoric linear earthwork and scheduled monument, runs through the site.
Norley Copse and Meadow is a 7.5-hectare (19-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Lymington in Hampshire. It is part of New Forest Ramsar site and Special Protection Area.
