Burks House, is a log cabin with a mud-daub chimney built in 1883. The house is typical of those built in the 19th century when the area was officially open to homesteading. [2] [3]
The cabin was moved to its present location in 1983, completely restored, and was enlisted on the National Register of Historic Places on September 8, 1987. [1] It is the only authentic log cabin in Beauregard Parish. [3]
Grand Canyon Village is a census-designated place (CDP) located on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, in Coconino County, Arizona, United States. Its population was 2,004 at the 2010 Census. Located in Grand Canyon National Park, it is wholly focused on accommodating tourists visiting the canyon. Its origins trace back to the railroad completed from Williams, to the canyon's South Rim by the Santa Fe Railroad in 1901. Many of the structures in use today date from that period. The village contains numerous landmark buildings, and its historic core is a National Historic Landmark District, designated for its outstanding implementation of town design.
The Lake McDonald Lodge Historic District is a historic district in Glacier National Park in the U.S. state of Montana. It comprises the Lake McDonald Lodge and surrounding structures on the shores of Lake McDonald. It is centered on the main lodge, which was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987, as well as surrounding guest cabins, dormitory buildings, employee residences, utility buildings, and retail structures. The district includes several privately owned inholding structures that are contributing structures, as well as a number of non-contributing buildings.
Beauregard Town, also known as Beauregard Town Historic District, is a historic district in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, anchored by Government Street. It was commissioned in 1806 by Elias Beauregard, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is the second-oldest neighborhood in Baton Rouge.
The Grand Canyon Lodge is a hotel and cabins complex at Bright Angel Point on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was designed by Gilbert Stanley Underwood, who designed a number of other hotels in national parks for the Utah Parks Company and other concessioners. Built in 1927–28, the Grand Canyon Lodge resort complex consists of the Main Lodge building, 23 deluxe cabins, and 91 standard cabins, some of which were moved to the north rim campground in 1940. All guests are housed in cabins detached from the main lodge, which serves as a dining, concessions and service facility. Constructed of native Kaibab limestone and timber, the complex was designed to harmonize with its rocky and forested setting. The Grand Canyon Lodge complex is notable for its setting and rustic design, as well as its status as the only complete surviving lodge and cabin complex in the national parks.
Sequoyah's Cabin is a log cabin and historic site off Oklahoma State Highway 101 near Akins, Oklahoma. It was the home between 1829 and 1844 of the Cherokee Indian Sequoyah, who in 1821 created a written language for the Cherokee Nation. The cabin and surrounding park, now owned by the Cherokee Nation, was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965.
The David Gordon House and Collins Log Cabin were two historic homes located at Columbia, Missouri. The David Gordon House is a two-story, frame I-house. The 13-room structure incorporated original construction from about 1823 and several additions from the 1830s, 1890s and 1930s. The Collins Log Cabin was built in 1818, and is a single pen log house of the story and a loft design. They represent some of the first permanent dwellings in Columbia. The house, located in what is now Stephens Lake Park burned after arson in the early 1990s. The log cabin survived has been relocated from Stephens Lake Park to the campus of the Boone County Historical Society.

Log Cabin Church is a historic non-denominational church at 413 Progress Road in the hamlet of Progress in the town of Mayfield, Fulton County, New York. It was built in 1937 and is a 26 feet deep by 18 feet wide log structure constructed of white poplar logs laid horizontally. Also on the property is a privy and a parish activities hall.
The Harlan Log House, also known as "The Log House," was built about 1715 by Joshua Harlan, is a well-preserved example of an English-style log cabin near Kennett Square, in Kennett Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is about a half mile west of the hamlet of Fairville. Joshua Harlan was the son of George Harlan, who arrived in Pennsylvania in 1687. Joshua was born in 1696 and was the cousin of the George Harlan, who built the Harlan House, about 12 miles north about 1724. Both houses are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The Beauregard Parish Courthouse is located in DeRidder, Louisiana, the location of the parish seat. The courthouse was built at the same time as the Beauregard Parish Jail, by the same people, and completed around the same time in 1915, as directed by the Beauregard Parish Police Jury.
C. A. Nothnagle Log House is a historic house on Swedesboro-Paulsboro Road near Swedesboro in the Gibbstown section of Greenwich Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. It is one of the oldest surviving log houses in the United States.
The Circle Ranch, also known as the R.L. Miller Ranch has been continuously operated as a working cattle ranch for more than 100 years. Located in Sublette County, Wyoming, it was first occupied as a homestead by Otto Liefer between 1878 and 1880. Liefer sold his claim to James Mickelson in 1895, who developed the ranch into one of the largest ranching operations in the area. The ranch has remained in the Mickelson family ever since.
Lower Swedish Cabin is a historic Swedish-style log cabin on Creek Road in the Drexel Hill section of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, along Darby Creek. The cabin may be one of the oldest log cabins in the United States and is one of the last cabins built by the Swedish settlers that remains intact.
The Wonderland Trail is an approximately 93-mile (150 km) hiking trail that circumnavigates Mount Rainier in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington, United States. The trail goes over many ridges of Mount Rainier for a cumulative 22,000 feet (6,700 m) of elevation gain. The trail was built in 1915.
The Timberline Cabin in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, USA was built in 1925 to house workers on the Fall River Road. The National Park Service rustic style cabin was designed by the National Park Service's Landscape Engineering Division under the direction of Thomas Chalmers Vint. The cabin was later used as a patrol cabin and as a caretaker's residence.
The Trujillo Homesteads are a historic ranch site near Mosca, Alamosa County, Colorado, not far from the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The area was first settled in the 1860s by Teofilo Trujillo, a Mexican sheep farmer. His son Pedro built a log cabin house beginning in 1879, along with other ranch outbuildings and structures. In 1902 the elder Trujillo's home was destroyed by fire during conflicts between English-speaking cattle ranchers and the Spanish Trujillos, who were by then major landowners in the area. The Trujillos sold their holdings, which became part the Medeno Zapata Ranch, now owned by The Nature Conservancy. The homestead area, including the surviving homestead and the ruins of the destroyed one, was declared a National Historic Landmark District in February 2012.
St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, also known as the Church of St. John in the Woods, is a historic church building located near Welches, Oregon and originally located near Zigzag, Oregon. It was built as a mission church and chapel of ease of the parish of St. Aloysius in Estacada. It became a mission of the parish of St. Michael the Archangel in Sandy, Oregon when the latter was established in 1952.
The Silas A. Rice Log House, located on Oregon Route 19 at Burns Park in Condon, Oregon, is a historic log house built in 1884 as a simple pen of hewn logs. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
The Old Settlers' Association of Johnson County Cabins, also known as City Park Cabins, are historic buildings located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. These are two log structures built by the Old Settlers' Association of Johnson County. The single-room log cabin was built in 1889 for Johnson County's semicentennial. It had been located at two different county fairground sites until it was moved to City Park in 1918. The second cabin was built here by the association in 1913. It is a dogtrot house that is meant to be a replica of an early trading post in this area. These are typical log house forms from Iowa's pioneer era whose existence are now rare. They also represent an effort by a social organization to commemorate the community's common pioneer heritage. A third element that is part of the historical designation is a bronze plaque affixed to a granite boulder. Located southwest of the cabins, it was installed in 1929 to mark a "Grand Army Tree" that was planted nearby. It is not known if the tree survives. The buildings and plaque were listed together on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
The John M. Hopkins Cabin, located in the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge south of Folkston, Georgia, off GA 121/23 in Charlton County, Georgia, is a log cabin built in 1927. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
