Callum Brae is a suburb in north-eastern Hamilton in New Zealand. [1]

It part of the Rototuna South census area. [2] Hamilton City Council includes Callum Brae as part of Rototuna. [3] Estate agents refer to the area as Rototuna, [4] which is often used to include Callum Brae and other neighbouring suburbs, such as Grosvenor, Somerset Heights, Huntington and St James. [5] In 2012 Hamilton Libraries said Callum Court is in the suburb of Rototuna. It was named in 2000 by Bramley Ltd., the developer, following a theme of naming all streets in the Callum Brae development with Scottish names. [6]

Tauhara Park lies to the west of Callum Brae. [7] Work was done in 2002 to prevent methane from the old Rototuna landfill migrating to Callum Brae [8] and monitoring continues. [9] The leachate is also collected. [10]

Bus 16 has served Callum Brae at half hourly intervals [11] since 2018. [12]

Hamilton City Libraries are a group of seven libraries in Hamilton, New Zealand, owned by the local city council. They lend fiction and non-fiction, magazines, audiobooks, and DVDs. From November 2016 to 9 July 2018, a substitute library compensated for the temporarily closed Central branch, and the libraries closed for over 2 months for COVID-19 in 2020. Waikato District residents living close to Hamilton City can freely use the Hamilton libraries.

St James shopping area is in the centre of Rototuna, with a Countdown supermarket, a gym and a Palmers Garden Centre.

Since 2014, the average number of trips per person per year in Waikato has declined from 10.1 to 4.7 in 2021/22, though bus trips rose slightly, from 788,600 per quarter in 2021, to 823,800 in 2023.
