Cantons of the Var department

The following is a list of the 23 cantons of the Var department , in France, following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015:^[1]

The cantons of France are territorial subdivisions of the French Republic's arrondissements and departments.

Var is a department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. It takes its name from the river Var, which flowed along its eastern boundary, until the boundary was moved in 1860. The Var department is bordered on the east by the department of Alpes-Maritimes, to the west by Bouches-du-Rhône, to the north of the river Verdon by the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and to the south by the Mediterranean Sea.

In the administrative divisions of France, the department is one of the three levels of government below the national level, between the administrative regions and the commune. Ninety-six departments are in metropolitan France, and five are overseas departments, which are also classified as regions. Departments are further subdivided into 334 arrondissements, themselves divided into cantons; the last two have no autonomy, and are used for the organisation of police, fire departments, and sometimes, elections.

The canton of Brignoles is an administrative division of the Var department, southeastern France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Brignoles.

It was created in January 2018, replacing the communauté d'agglomération that had been created in December 2001. Its population was 434,409 in 2014, of which 167,685 in Toulon proper.

The A50 autoroute is a French motorway connecting Marseille to Toulon. It is 64km long. The motorway is a mixture of 2x2 and 2x3 lane road which runs through mountainous coastal terrain along the Mediterranean. As such it has some relatively sharp turns and steep gradients by French motorway standards. Some sections are limited to 110 km/h as a result.

The 2007 Toulon Tournament was the 35th edition of the Toulon Tournament, and was held from 31 May to 9 June. It was won by France, after they beat China 3-1 in the final.

National road RN 98 is a French road. In its latest form, it connects Toulon to Menton. It also passes through Monaco.

The 2012 Toulon Tournament was the 40th edition of the Toulon Tournament and took place from 23 May to 1 June. Colombia were the defending champions, but they did not participate this year.

The canton of Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais is an administrative division of the Vendée department, western France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais.

The canton of Talmont-Saint-Hilaire is an administrative division of the Vendée department, western France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire.

The 7th constituency of the Var is a French legislative constituency in the Var département. Like the other 576 French constituencies, it elects one MP using the two-round system, with a run-off if no candidate receives over 50% of the vote in the first round.
