Carex mitrata, also known as mitra sedge [1] is a tussock-forming species of perennial sedge in the family Cyperaceae. It is native to Japan, Korea, Taiwan and eastern parts of China. [2]
The species was first formally described by the botanist Adrien René Franchet in 1895 as a part of the work Bulletin de la Société Philomatique de Paris. [3] The type specimen was collected by Urbain Faurie in 1892 from the Shidzuoka mountains in 1892. [3]
Carex breviculmis, called the Asian shortstem sedge, is a species of flowering plant in the genus Carex, native to Asia from the Indian subcontinent to Southeast Asia, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, north as far as Khabarovsk Krai, and Malesia, New Guinea, Australia, Norfolk Island and New Zealand. It has been introduced to the US state of Mississippi. Typically found in forests, it is quite shade tolerant.
