Iván Calderón Pérez was a Puerto Rican professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for four teams from 1984 to 1993, and was named an All-Star in 1991. Listed at 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) and 220 pounds (100 kg), he batted and threw right-handed. Nicknamed "Ivan the Terrible", Calderón was killed in a shooting in Puerto Rico in December 2003.

Arquimedez Pozo Ortiz is a Dominican former professional baseball player. He played parts of three seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the mid-1990s for the Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox. He also played one season each in Nippon Professional Baseball and the Korea Baseball Organization. Pozo's primary position was third base, and he occasionally played second base.

He attended Holy Cross High School in Flushing, New York. In 1995, Valle founded Esperanza International, a microfinance organization that serves families in poverty in the Dominican Republic. Phillip Alan Plantier is an American former professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1990 to 1997. Listed at 6 feet 0 inches (1.83 m) and 175 pounds (79 kg), he batted left-handed and threw right-handed. After his playing career, he spent three seasons as a hitting coach with the San Diego Padres and as an assistant hitting coach with the Los Angeles Angels.

He has also played in MLB for the Kansas City Royals, Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox.
