Chanz Jeffery Green (born January 29,1991) is an American business owner and Republican politician from Bayfield County,Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly,representing Wisconsin's 74th Assembly district since January 2023.
Chanz Green was born and raised in rural northwest Wisconsin. He graduated from Amery High School and went to work in municipal utilities in Amery,Wisconsin,and rose to become assistant director of public works in Amery. In the meantime,he furthered his education with certificates from Northwood Technical College and University of Wisconsin–Extension programs. [1]
In 2019,he was hired as utilities manager for Ashland,Wisconsin,and worked on a major redesign of the city's wastewater treatment system to prevent wastewater from overflowing into Lake Superior. Throughout these years he has also worked as a volunteer firefighter. [2]
In 2021,he became the owner of a bar in Cable,Wisconsin,and started an event business to rent tables,chairs,and tents for outdoor events. [2]
Due to his bar ownership,Green became involved with the Tavern League of Wisconsin,a trade association with extensive political influence in the state of Wisconsin. In January 2022,incumbent state representative Beth Meyers announced she would not run for another term in the Assembly that Fall,creating an open seat in the 74th Assembly district. [3] Green announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination three months later. [4] He defeated electrician John Schey in the Republican primary and went on to face Democratic farmer John Adams in the general election. [5] The 74th Assembly district has recently featured some of the closest elections in the state,and was again one of the closest races in 2022—Green won by a margin of just 1,730 votes. [6]
He took office in January 2023.
Chanz Green lives with his long-term girlfriend,Katie,in the rural town of Lincoln,in Bayfield County,Wisconsin. [2] Green is an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He is a member of the National Rifle Association of America,Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association,and Hunter Nation. [1]

Wisconsin's 7th congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in northwestern and central Wisconsin; it is the largest congressional district in the state geographically, covering 20 counties, for a total of 18,787 sq mi. The district contains the following counties: Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, St. Croix, Chippewa (partial), Clark, Douglas, Florence, Forest, Iron, Jackson (partial), Juneau (partial), Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Monroe (partial), Oneida, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, Vilas, Washburn, and Wood (partial).
Gary Tauchen is an American dairy farmer and Republican politician. He was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 6th Assembly district from 2007 through 2022. The 6th district comprised most of Shawano County along with northwestern Outagamie County and neighboring towns in eastern Waupaca County.
Janet Bewley is an American politician and former Democratic minority leader in the Wisconsin State Senate. She was a member of the Wisconsin Senate from 2015 through 2023, and previously served four years in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Iron, Ashland, Bayfield, and Price counties in the northwest of the state.

The 75th Assembly district of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in northwestern Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Polk County and most of Burnett County. It includes the cities of Amery and St. Croix Falls and the villages of Balsam Lake, Centuria, Clayton, Clear Lake, Dresser, Frederic, Grantsburg, Luck, Milltown, Osceola, Siren, and Webster, and part of the village of Turtle Lake. The district also contains the St. Croix Chippewa reservation, the Wisconsin portion of Interstate Park, and a significant portion of the Wisconsin side of the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway. The district is represented by Republican David Armstrong, since January 2021. Armstrong was drawn out of the district by the 2024 redistricting act, Republican Duke Tucker was elected to represent the new district beginning in January 2025.
The Wisconsin State Assembly elections of 2022 were held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. All 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly were up for election. This was the first and only election to take place after redistricting following the 2020 United States census, where the courts had put in place maps set out in the Johnson decision. Before the election, 61 Assembly seats were held by Republicans and 38 seats were held by Democrats. The primary election was held on August 9, 2022.
