John G. Gard is an American lobbyist and former politician. A Republican, he was the 75th Speaker of the Wisconsin State Assembly (2003–2007) and was a member of the Assembly for 19 years. Gard also ran unsuccessfully for United States House of Representatives in Wisconsin's 8th congressional district in 2006 and 2008.
Peggy A. Rosenzweig is a former member of the Wisconsin State Senate and the Wisconsin State Assembly. She served in the Wisconsin Legislature from 1983 to 2003.
John Nygren is an American insurance and financial services agent, politician, and lobbyist. A Republican, he was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly for nearly 14 years, serving from January 2007 to December 2020. He was co-chair of the powerful Joint Finance Committee from 2013 until his sudden resignation on December 1, 2020. He now works as executive director for the Wisconsin Association of Health Plans, a state lobbying organization for health insurance companies. Prior to holding public office, he was President of the United States Junior Chamber youth organization.
Sherburn Duane "Duey" Stroebel Jr. is an American realtor and Republican politician from Cedarburg, Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing the 20th Senate district since 2015. He previously served two terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly, from 2011 to 2015. After the latest redistricting plan, Stroebel is running for re-election in Wisconsin's 8th Senate district in 2024.
Recall elections for nine Wisconsin state senators were held during the summer of 2011; one was held on July 19, and six on August 9, with two more held on August 16. Voters attempted to put 16 state senators up for recall, eight Democrats and eight Republicans, because of the budget bill proposed by Governor Scott Walker and circumstances surrounding it. Republicans targeted Democrats for leaving the state for three weeks to prevent the bill from receiving a vote, while Democrats targeted Republicans for voting to significantly limit public employee collective bargaining. Scholars could cite only three times in American history when more than one state legislator has been recalled at roughly the same time over the same issue.

In addition, all 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 34 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested to determine the membership of the 119th United States Congress. Thirteen state and territorial governorships and numerous other state and local elections will also be contested.
The 2023 United States elections were held, in large part, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. The 89th Assembly district of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in Northeastern Wisconsin, the district is entirely contained within central Brown County. It includes the village of Ashwaubenon and much of the west side of the city of Green Bay. The district contains Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers. The district is represented by Republican Elijah Behnke, since May 2021. After the 2024 redistricting, Behnke no longer resides in the new 89th district.

The fall election also filled the seventeen odd-numbered seats in the Wisconsin Senate and all 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly for the 106th Wisconsin Legislature. The 2022 Wisconsin fall primary was held on August 9, 2022.
The 2023 Virginia Senate election was held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, concurrently with elections for the Virginia House of Delegates, to elect senators to all 40 seats in the Senate of Virginia for the 163rd and 164th Virginia Assembly. Nomination primaries held through the Department of Elections were held June 20, 2023. These were the first elections held following redistricting as a result of the 2020 census. The Democrats retained control of the Senate.

Nate "Gus" Gustafson is an American information technology professional and Republican politician from Winnebago County, Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 55th Assembly district since January 2023. He is also currently a member of the Winnebago County board of supervisors.
The 2024 Wisconsin State Assembly election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. All 99 seats in the Wisconsin State Assembly are up for election. Currently, 64 Assembly seats are held by Republicans and 35 seats are held by Democrats.
