Coode Street Jetty is located in South Perth in Western Australia. The jetty is on the southern shore of the Swan River in the section known as Perth Water.
An earlier jetty existed, [1] also with an adjacent pool, before the construction of a newer jetty along the altered shore-line. [2] It was a timetabled stop for the Swan River Ferries company from at least 1916 for services to South Perth. One of the ferries which worked this route, the Valdura , is now preserved.
Coode Street Jetty was served by Transperth services from Barrack Street and occasionally via Mends Street until services ceased on 30 April 2005 due to lack of patronage. [3] [4]
It is included in potential stopping places by the 2016-commencing Little Ferry Company. [5] [6]

Cygnet Cinema is located at 16 Preston Street, Como, Western Australia. It was the first purpose built sound cinema in the suburbs immediately south of the city in the inter-war period. The Cygnet Cinema opened in 1938 and was built by local identity and film entrepreneur James Stiles. The Black Swan was the first bucket dredge used by the Swan River Colony to make its rivers more suitable for shipping. The dredge was operational from 1872 to 1911, when it was scuttled. Initially known as the Government Dredge, it was renamed after being repaired and modified between 1887 and 1888. The dredging carried out by the Black Swan and other vessels had a significant impact on the river fauna and flora, including the black swans for which it was named.

MV Valdura is a preserved small ferry used on the Swan river and in Fremantle Harbour between 1912 and 1967. It is the only surviving "Val-boat" class ferry, which were one of the main types of ferry used on the Swan river between 1904 and 1949 when ferry services were the primary mode of transport on the river.
The Swan River Ferry company was a major operator of ferry services on the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia from its establishment in 1897 to its end in 1949.
