Superfly is a Japanese rock act that debuted on April 4, 2007. Formerly a duo, the act now consists solely of lyricist and vocalist Shiho Ochi with former guitarist Kōichi Tabo still credited as the group's composer and part-time lyricist. Superfly's first two studio albums were certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan, and their first four consecutive albums all debuted at the top of the Oricon Weekly Album Charts, a first for a female recording artist in Japan in over seven years.

Live from Tokyo is a live EP by Japanese band Superfly, performed at the Shibuya Apple Store on June 6, 2007, and then released exclusively to the iTunes Store on June 27. It was one of the earliest Live from Tokyo albums released to the iTunes Store in Japan. It consists of covers of four rock songs from the late 1960s and early 1970s. The tracks were subsequently released as B-sides to the group's single "Hi-Five". All four songs are included on the second disc of the "Wildflower & Cover Songs: Complete Best 'Track 3'" single.

"Ah" is a song by Japanese J-pop and rock band Superfly. "Ah" was initially released as the final track on their third studio album Mind Travel. On June 14, 2011, before the release of the album, Superfly released a statement that "Ah" would be released as the album's 4th single and as the band's 13th single overall. This version, titled in Japanese as "あぁ" (Aa), would feature lyrics, instead of the album version's a cappella chanting, and would be sold as a one-track single. The label wanted to release the version with lyrics as part of Mind Travel, but Shiho Ochi decided that the version without lyrics would be on the album but they would release the lyric version at a later date. Regarding the song, Ochi stated that the album version of the song is meant to show that one does not need words to convey emotions to others. In addition, a short film consisting of a total solar eclipse that uses "Ah" as its soundtrack will be shown at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2011 on June 16, 2011. The "Aa" version peaked at number 9 on the Oricon Weekly Charts.

As of 2011, it is Superfly's most successful single, being certified as a million ringtone download, triple platinum as a cellphone download, and single platinum for digital sales.

The DVD edition of the single features footage of Superfly's live concert at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse which was to promote the release of the band's third album Mind Travel. Superfly has stated that "Ai o Kurae" is a return to the band's old style. The song was used as the theme song for the Japanese drama Boss, alongside a then untitled song the band performed as the opening theme. The show's producer Ken Murase decided to go with Superfly for his program's music because of Shiho Ochi's vocal range not only giving the rock music an edgy quality, but also tenderness and warmth. "My Best of My Life" is a ballad that Ochi wrote with the idea of a lonely woman in mind. The song reached the number 11 spot on the Oricon charts, while reaching number 3 on both the Japan Hot 100 and RIAJ Digital Track Chart.
