The three stations share master control at the TV5 Complex, Capitol Road, Camp Marina, Brgy. Kalunasan, Cebu City. DYET-TV maintains its hybrid analog/digital transmitting facilities are located atop Mount Busay, Brgy. Babag 1 (shared with NBC-owned sister stations DYAN-TV, as well as Radyo5 local station DYFM 101.9 MHz).

History

DYET-TV was the first UHF TV station in Cebu City, launching on April 1, 1992, broadcasting from the twelfth floor of the Sundowner Centrepoint Hotel with 5000-watt capacity with coverage reaching Metro Cebu, Northeastern Cebu up to Compostela, Southeastern Cebu up to Carcar, Northern and Central Bohol and part of Western Leyte; by 1994, it was one of the network's eight owned-and-operated stations, and had maintained a team of local professionals. [1]

On July 18, 2011, TV5 Cebu started airing its local newscast, Aksyon Bisaya, to compete with the well-established Balitang Bisdak and the local edition of TV Patrol. At launch, it was presented by Ruphil Fernandez Bañoc, with Darlanne Sino-Cruz (coming in from the local GMA station) as co-host. [2]

It and the sister Radyo Singko Cebu held a two-day event on April 13-14, 2013, presenting its new schedule to locals, with notable network celebrities and local staff taking part. [3] In September 2016, as a cost-cutting measure, DYET-TV ceased production of local programs without prior warning, including the local edition of Aksyon, leaving twelve journalists in limbo. A similar situation took place in Davao. [4]
