The Anglican realignment is a movement among some Anglicans to align themselves under new or alternative oversight within or outside the Anglican Communion. This movement is primarily active in parts of the Episcopal Church in the United States and the Anglican Church of Canada. Two of the major events that contributed to the movement were the 2002 decision of the Diocese of New Westminster in Canada to authorise a rite of blessing for same-sex unions, and the nomination of two openly gay priests in 2003 to become bishops. Jeffrey John, an openly gay priest with a long-time partner, was appointed to be the next Bishop of Reading in the Church of England and the General Convention of the Episcopal Church ratified the election of Gene Robinson, an openly gay non-celibate man, as Bishop of New Hampshire. Jeffrey John ultimately declined the appointment due to pressure.
Godfrey William Ernest Candler Ashby was a British Anglican bishop, theologian, and academic. From 1980 to 1985, he was the eighth Bishop of St John's in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. From 1988 to 1995, he was the Assistant Bishop of Leicester in the Church of England.
John Edward Holbrook is a Church of England bishop. He is the Bishop of Brixworth in the Diocese of Peterborough. He also is currently serving as acting diocesan Bishop of Peterborough. He had been Rural Dean of Wimborne in the Diocese of Salisbury and served as Acting Bishop of Leicester.

Helen-Ann Macleod Hartley is a British Anglican diocesean bishop, Lord Spiritual, and academic. Since 2023, she has served as the 13th Bishop of Newcastle in the Church of England. She previously served as Bishop of Waikato in New Zealand from 2014 to 2017, and area Bishop of Ripon in the Diocese of Leeds from 2018 to 2023. She was the first woman to have trained as a priest in the Church of England to join the episcopate, and the third woman to become a bishop of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. At the times of her appointments to Leeds and Newcastle she was respectively the youngest bishop and youngest diocesan bishop in the Church of England. She has repeatedly criticised senior bishops on matters related to safeguarding and power dynamics.
Roderick Charles Howell Thomas is a retired Church of England bishop. He was the Bishop of Maidstone, a provincial episcopal visitor for conservative evangelical members and parishes of the church, from 2015 until his retirement in 2022.

Peter John Fox is a British priest in the Church of England who served as Bishop of Port Moresby in the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea from 2002 to 2006, as an honorary assistant bishop in the Diocese of Norwich between 2006 and 2018, and since August 2019 an honorary assistant bishop in the Diocese of Leicester.

Paul Richard Thomas SSC is a British Anglican bishop who has served as Bishop of Oswestry, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Lichfield, and the provincial episcopal visitor for the western half of the Province of Canterbury since February 2023. From 2011, he was vicar of St James's Church, Paddington.
