Deerfoot City is an outdoor shopping centre located in northeast Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It opened in 1981 as Deerfoot Outlet Mall, just east of Deerfoot Trail (Highway 2) on 64th Avenue NE. The 1.1 million square foot shopping centre, owned by Shape Properties, sits on an 80-acre site. [1]
Upon its opening, the mall's anchor tenants were Woolco, Canada Safeway, and The Bay. The original mall featured 80 retailers, including a mixture of chain and independent businesses, a bowling alley, and a food court. During the mall's early history, all three anchors closed or were rebranded: Woolco became Walmart; Safeway closed; and The Bay location was taken over by Sears Canada. Eventually, the former Safeway location was divided up into several smaller retailers, including Winners.
By the 1990s, Deerfoot Mall was considered an "outlet mall," billing itself as "Western Canada's only enclosed outlet mall." [2]
In the 2000s, both Walmart and Sears closed their locations within the mall, with Walmart opening a standalone store to the immediate southeast of the building, and Sears closing its store altogether. This left Winners and the bowling alley as the mall's last remaining anchors, though both the former Walmart and Sears locations were redeveloped for other retailers.
A plan announced in September 2013 called for converting the enclosed mall into an open-air regional centre, and add over 500,000 additional square feet of retail space. [3] It was subsequently renamed Deerfoot City.
As of 2019, major anchors include LensCrafters, The Rec Room, Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire, Cabela's, Goodlife Fitness, Dollarama and Winners. The original mall structure has been split into three sections that are separated by roadways, with larger "big box" retailers such as Cabela's taking up locations along the property's periphery.
Square One Shopping Centre, or simply Square One, is a shopping mall located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is the largest shopping centre in Ontario and the second largest shopping centre in Canada, after the West Edmonton Mall. It has over 2,200,000 square feet (200,000 m2) of retail space, with more than 360 stores and services. On average, the mall serves over 24 million customers each year. It operates on most holidays, making it the only shopping mall in the city and one of the few in the Greater Toronto Area that does so.
Southgate Centre is a shopping centre in south Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, covering just under 90,000 square metres. It contains 165 retailers including The Bay, Aritzia, Zara, Michael Kors, Browns Shoes and Edmonton's only Restoration Hardware and Crate & Barrel. Apple opened a second store in Edmonton at Southgate Centre on May 28, 2010, Edmonton's first Lego store opened in June 2013, London Drugs moved up 51 Avenue from 105 Street in fall of 2022, and Edmonton's sixth H&M location opened in fall of 2022. The centre is located adjacent to Whitemud Drive and 111 Street, and is located across from a transit bus station and the Southgate LRT Station.
Chinook Centre is the largest shopping mall in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located near the geographic centre of the city on Macleod Trail, north of Glenmore Trail about 5 km (3.1 mi) south of downtown, and three blocks west of the Chinook C-Train station. The mall is operated by Cadillac Fairview.
The Avalon Mall is a Canadian shopping mall located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador on Kenmount Road. With over 500,000 square feet (46,000 m2), two floors, and 142 stores, it is the largest shopping mall in Newfoundland and Labrador. The mall opened on November 1, 1967 and is owned by Crombie REIT.

Marlborough Mall is a shopping mall located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Opened in November 1971, the mall has expanded several times and today includes approximately 100 stores and services, and encompasses 570,837 square feet (53,032.5 m2) of retail floor space. The mall also featured a Safeway until the 1990s, when the store moved to its own location west of 36th Street.
The Centre is a major shopping mall located south-east of the junction of Circle Drive and 8th Street in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in the Wildwood neighbourhood. Sometimes commonly referred to as The Centre At Circle And 8th or The 8th Street Mall It is currently anchored by Sport Chek, Saskatoon Co-op, Rainbow Cinemas, the Centre Cinemas, Shoppers Drug Mart, Best Buy, Indigo Books and Music and Dollarama. Until 2003–2005, Canadian Tire and Walmart were also part of this mall. They both moved to the big box development of Preston Crossing; a Zellers department store that had operated in the west end of the mall since it was built in the early 1970s subsequently relocated from its original location to occupy the vacated Walmart location at the east end. The Zellers has since closed and has been converted into Target, which also subsequently closed. The Centre boasts more than 90 shops and services, several art display spaces in Centre East, and a 2-level temperature-controlled underground parkade.
The New Sudbury Centre is a shopping mall located in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. It has 110 stores and 562,619 square feet (52,269.0 m2) of retail space.
The Mayflower Mall is a single level shopping mall in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is the only regional mall in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality of Nova Scotia, and the community's main destination for fashion shopping. The mall features a diverse anchor mix including Best Buy, Winners, Sport Chek, Michaels, Staples, and Hudson's Bay.
Confederation Mall is a 329,128 sq. ft. shopping mall located at 22nd Street and Circle Drive in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The mall was originally named Confederation Park Plaza when it opened in mid-1973, at which time its anchor tenants were Canada Safeway and Woolco.

Medicine Hat Mall is a shopping centre located adjacent to the TransCanada Highway in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. Anchored by Hudson's Bay, Safeway, Galaxy Cinemas and Shoppers Drug Mart, Medicine Hat Mall has over 50 retail shops and services.
North Hill Centre is a shopping mall in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It opened in 1958, and was Calgary's first shopping mall. The original anchor tenant was Simpsons-Sears, but it closed on January 8, 2018.

Northland Village Mall was a shopping mall located in northwest Calgary, Alberta. The mall opened in 1971, with it being further expanded in 2005. The mall closed in 2021, with demolition to redevelop the mall happening throughout the year 2022 to turn it into an open-air facility. Prior to 2021, Northland Village was a one-level shopping centre with over 60 retail shops and services.
Honeydale Mall was a community shopping mall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was located at the intersection of Dundas Street and The East Mall Crescent. It served the Eatonville neighbourhood of Etobicoke district.
Florin Towne Centre is an outdoor shopping center in the unincorporated area of Parkway-South Sacramento in Sacramento County, California, United States, in the Sacramento area. It opened in 2008 on the site of the old Florin Mall, which closed and was demolished in 2006. The 484,500 square feet (45,010 m2) center is anchored by AutoZone, Chuze Fitness, PetSmart, US Foods CHEF'STORE, and Walmart Supercenter.

Westbrook Mall is a shopping centre in Calgary, Alberta. Its anchors are Safeway and Walmart. The Westbrook Station on the West Line of the C-Train is located adjacent to the mall.
