Stephan Darnstaedt, born on 10 October 1987 was a contestant of the third season. Darnstaedt left DSDS just one day before the third 'theme show', being replaced by Didi Knoblauch. He was known to sing songs from boy bands. Darnstaedt was not a favorite of the competition and was in the bottom groups during both Top 20 shows. Nevertheless, he ranked in the top half of voting during the theme show before his departure.

Vanessa Jean Dedmon , born 28 April 1987 to Russel and Waltraud Dedmon was a semifinalist in the third season and was voted out in the Top 3 Show.

Carolina Escolano-Fernandez, born 19 March 1984 in Pforzheim, Germany, was a contestant in the third season. She is of Spanish descent.

Didi Knoblauch (a.k.a. Jamie Dwayne Knoblauch and of trans-sexual gender), was born Diana Knoblauch 15 December 1980 in Illerkirchberg/Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Knoblauch is a member of the rock 'n' roll cover band The Cash in Baden-Württemberg. Knoblauch was eliminated in the second Top 20 show but was brought back into the competition as Stephan Darnstaedt quit.

Dascha Semcov was born 30 March 1988 in Kishinev, Moldova. Prior to Superstar, Dascha had been in Germany for only 18 months. Her father Alexej and mother Diana moved from Moldova to Erfurt. Semcov performed in three musicals which includes Starlight Express. She is also performing part of the band Soul AG from Weimar.

Daniel Muñoz-Repko, born on 28 December 1983, was a contestant in the third season. Daniel is of mixed Spanish and Dutch ethnicity.

The fourth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar was aired on German channel RTL from February to May 2007. Mark Medlock, the season's winner, was awarded a contract with Sony BMG. The judges in this season were Dieter Bohlen, Heinz Henn, Anja Lukaseder. It was hosted by Marco Schreyl and Tooske Ragas. The viewers chose the contestant's fates as they were able to call for their favorite contestant. The voting results were published on 7 May. The winner got a 10-year contract and €100,000. Twenty percent went to the winner's manager who was chosen by the creators.

The fifth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar live shows began 8 March 2008. It is currently hosted by Marco Schreyl and jury panel, Dieter Bohlen, Anja Lukaseder, and Andreas "Bär" Läsker also star. This season, instead of making top 20 shows, the producers decided to make the top 15 live show "Now or Never" and chose the top 10 live to premier in the "Mottoshows" for the upcoming season.

Austria's Next Topmodel, season 1 was the first season of the Austrian reality documentary based on Tyra Banks America's Next Top Model.
The host of the show was Lena Gercke, the first winner of GNTM who is also the first winner of a Top Model franchise that later becomes a host of another Top Model show. The jury consisted of the head of Vienna-based agency Wiener Models Andrea Weidler and Dutch-born runway coach Alamande Belfor.

As with season 5, the "Top 10" was created by the Top 5 contestants with the most telephone and SMS voting and the other five were selected by the jury.

The seventh season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar was aired on German channel RTL from 6 January to 17 April 2010. The season marked a new national record with more than 35,000 participants. The season's winner was Mehrzad Marashi.

Das Supertalent is a German talent show, part of the internationally successful Got Talent franchise, presented by Victoria Swarovski and Knossi. Just like in all other versions of the franchise, auditions take place and the judges review their talent and then later the home audience votes in an election to deem who wins. The prize money is €50,000.

DSDS has extended participation privileges to Austria and Switzerland. Pietro Lombardi won the competition.

<i>Austrias Next Topmodel season 3</i> Season of television series

Season 3 of Austria's Next Topmodel aired on Puls 4 from January to March 2011. The judging panel consisted of Lena Gercke, Elvyra Geyer, and Atil Kutoglu. Among the prizes were a cover on Austrian magazine Woman, the face of the newest Hervis campaign as well as two runway jobs at the Milan and Paris Fashion Week.

The ninth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar was broadcast on German channel RTL from 7 January to 27 April 2012. Luca Hänni won the series. Jury members Fernanda Brandão and Patrick Nuo left DSDS and were replaced by Bruce Darnell and Cascada's Natalie Horler. As the winner, Luca Hänni received a recording contract with Universal Music Group and €500,000. Participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30 and living in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The auditions stage had 34 audition events in 33 cities across Germany, Austria or Switzerland. 35,401 participants auditioned for season 9. Marco Schreyl will not be returning to host season 10.

The tenth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar was broadcast on German channel RTL from 5 January to 11 May 2013. The winner received a recording contract with Universal Music Group and €500,000. There were new features in season 10. Participants had to be between 16 and 30 years old and could audition in 30 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Bill and Tom Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel and Mateo from Culcha Candela became judges. Bruce Darnell and Natalie Horler both left after the completion of season 9. There was a trip to Curaçao during the recall. This is the first season in which three women reached the final four and the second season with a female final 2. After nine years, the show produced a female winner, since Elli Erl in season 2. Beatrice Egli won the show as the second female winner.

Austria's Next Topmodel – Boys & Girls, the sixth season of Austria's Next Topmodel, aired from September to December 2014. Model Melanie Scheriau returned to present the series for a second season, while panelists Carmen Kreuzer and Rolf Scheider were replaced by male models Papis Loveday and Michael Urban. Two major changes were made to the series' format for the season: as on America's Next Top Model, the series featured both female and male contestants, and a public voting system was implemented. Bianca Schwarzjirg equaled the role of Bryanboy on America's Next Top Model, retrieving and delivering the results of the public vote. Also a mentor to the contestants was season 1 winner Larissa Marolt.
