Ditipriya Roy is an Indian television, film and theatre actress working in Bengali-language films and serials. She is known for portraying the character of Rani Rashmoni in the Bengali television series Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni . [1] Her movies include Avijatrik , [2] Bob Biswas, Aay Khuku Aay [3] , Kolkata Chalantika [4] and Achena Uttam. [5]

Career

Ditipriya started her career in television as a child artist and acted in serials like Maa, Durga, Aparajito, Byomkesh , Bamakhyapa, Tomay Amay Mile, Tare Ami Chokhe Dekhini. In 2015 she acted in Rajkahini , directed by Srijit Mukherji. [6] In 2017 she played the protagonist role in Bengali television series Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni . The series was aired on Zee Bangla and As of July 2020 completed more than 1,000 episodes. [7] She has made her Bollywood debut in Bob Biswas . [1]

Personal life

Her father Aloke Shankar Roy is a veterinary doctor and actor. [6] Ditipriya passed Higher secondary examination in 2020 with 82.4% marks. [19] [20] She is a student in the department of sociology at Asutosh College. [21]

Currently, she is doing masters degree in sociology from Sister Nivedita University

It was premiered on 24 July 2017. The serial was earlier produced by Subrata Roy and then it was produced by Zee Bangla. It completed 1,000 episodes on its third birthday and 1,500 episodes on 26 December 2021. After a successful run of 4+1⁄2 years, Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni went off-air on 13 February 2022.
