Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University (ALU Jaipur) is an residential-cum-affiliating University specialized in legal studies in Indian state of Rajasthan's capital Jaipur. It was established by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur Bill, 2019, a bill passed by the Rajasthan assembly in February 2019 and notified on 26 February 2019. [1] [2] [3] [4] In February 2020, Dev Swarup, Additional Secretary of UGC and former Vice Chancellor of University of Rajasthan has been appointed as first vice-chancellor of the University. [5] The university is named after Bhimrao Ambedkar, Indian scholar, social reformer, and the architect of the Indian Constitution. The university is recognized by the Bar Council of India. [6]

Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category. Ashok Panagariya was awarded the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2014. He died on 11 June 2021 due to COVID-19 complications.

Ranbir Chander Sobti is an Indian educationist, cell biologist. He is a former vice chancellor of the Panjab University, Chandigarh and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. He is known to have involved in advanced research in plant genetic studies and has written over 240 articles, and 22 books including Essentials of Biotechnology and Emerging Trends in Biomedical Science and Health. He is an elected Fellow of several major science academies such as Indian National Science Academy, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, National Academy of Medical Sciences, National Academy of Sciences, India, and Punjab Academy of Sciences. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2009, for his contributions to Literature and Education.

Dukhan Ram (1899–1990) was an Indian ophthalmologist, academic, legislator and the vice chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University. He was the principal of Patna Medical College, one of the oldest medical colleges in India, and the president of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, a satellite organization of Arya Samaj, founded by Dayanand Saraswati. He successfully contested the 1962 Bihar Legislative Assembly election from Sasaram constituency, on Indian National Congress candidature and served as the president of All India Ophthalmological Society in 1961. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1962, for his contributions to medical science.

Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJU) is a state university located at Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. In similar name, but slightly different abbreviation of HJUJ, a university was established in 2012 by the Congress govt through an Act of the Government of Rajasthan which was closed in 2015 by the next BJP govt. The Congress govt returned to power in December 2018 and a new university for journalism and mass communication — HJU — was constituted through the State Legislature's Act No. 11 of 2019, at the premises of historical Khasa Kothi.

Dev Swarup is an Indian educational administrator. He is first founding vice-chancellor of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University. He has been also additional secretary (2019-2020) of University Grants Commission (India) and joint secretary, UGC, New Delhi. He was vice-chancellor of the University of Rajasthan, from 2013-14. He resigned from the University of Rajasthan in November 2014. He is also member of statutory body, General Council of National Law University, Jodhpur.
