Establishment

Homoeopathy University(Recognized by UGC u/s 2(f) of UGC Act 1956) is established by Dr. M.P.K.Homoeopathic Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre Society, Jaipur. The Ordinance of University has been approved by His Excellency Governor of Rajasthan vide their Ordinance No.5 of 2009 on 13-10-2009. The bill of University has been raised in state assembly by the Government and legally accepted through the legislature on 3 April 2010.

University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory body set up by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India in accordance to the UGC Act 1956 and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education in India. It provides recognition to universities in India, and disbursements of funds to such recognized universities and colleges. The headquarters are in New Delhi, and it has six regional centres in Pune, Bhopal, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Bangalore. A proposal to replace it with another new regulatory body called HECI is under consideration by the Government of India. The UGC provides doctoral scholarships to all those who clear JRF in the National Eligibility Test. On an average, each year 725 crore (US$91 million) is spent on doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships by the commission.

She has been honored for promoting French language in India. She died on 4 October 2018 due to liver ailment.

The higher education system in India includes both private and public universities. Public universities are supported by the Government of India and the state governments, while private universities are mostly supported by various bodies and societies. Universities in India are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), which draws its power from the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. In addition, 15 Professional Councils are established, controlling different aspects of accreditation and coordination. Private universities in India are regulated under the UGC Regulations, 2003. Per the UGC act and these regulations, private universities are established by an act of a local legislative assembly and listed by the UGC in the Gazette upon receiving the act. As confirmed by ruling of the Supreme Court of India, recognition by the UGC is required for the university to operate. Also, per the 2003 regulations, the UGC sends committees to inspect the private universities and publishes their inspection report.

In February 2020, Dev Swarup, Additional Secretary of UGC and former Vice Chancellor of University of Rajasthan has been appointed as first vice-chancellor of the University. The university is named after Bhimrao Ambedkar, Indian scholar, social reformer, and the architect of the Indian Constitution. The university is recognized by the Bar Council of India.
