Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) is an affiliating university in Kota in the state of Rajasthan, India. It was established in 2006 by the Government of Rajasthan to enhance technical education in the state. It has many affiliated colleges under its umbrella.
RTU is on the campus of the University Engineering College, Kota, previously Engineering College of Kota and now University Teaching Department which is now an autonomous institute.
The university affiliates about 130 engineering colleges, 4 B.Arch colleges, 41 MCA colleges, 95 MBA colleges, 44 M.Tech colleges and 03 hotel management and catering institutes. More than 2.5 lakh students study in the institutes affiliated to the university.
The university offers Bachelor of Technology, Master of Technology, Master of Business Administration, Master of Computer Applications, and Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology.
Rajasthan Technical University is on the campus of University Engineering College, Kota (formerly Engineering College, Kota). The lush green campus is at the bank of river Chambal in an area of more than 385 acres.
The campus is on the Rawatbhata Road, about 14 km from Kota Railway Station and 10 km from Kota bus stand. It is approximately 500 kilometres (310 mi) from New Delhi, and about 250 kilometres (160 mi) from the state capital Jaipur.
The Governor of Rajasthan is the chancellor of the university. [1] Santosh Kumar Singh was appointed Vice Chancellor (VC) in August 2022 [2] replacing Ram Avatar Gupta.
RTU is an affiliating university. Its affiliated colleges offer the degrees of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT). [3]
As of April 2011 [update] , RTU affiliates 202 colleges. B.Tech degrees are offered at nine government aided institutes and 109 are private ones. [4] MBA degrees are offered at seven government aided institutes and 122 are private ones. [5]
MCA degrees are offered in at seven government aided institutes and 25 are private ones. [6] M.Tech is offered in 24 colleges and BHMCT in four colleges. In addition, two colleges offer Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degrees.
Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), previously spelled Visveswaraiah Technological University, is a collegiate public state university in Belagavi, Karnataka established by the Government of Karnataka. All colleges in the State of Karnataka imparting education in Engineering or Technology, except those that have the consent of VTU and sanction of the Government, are required to be affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The university is named after Sir M. Visvesvaraya, an Indian civil engineer, statesman and the 19th Diwan of Mysore. VTU is one of oldest technical university which provide opportunities for engineering students and management students.
Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), before 2015 as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), is a public collegiate university in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established as the Uttar Pradesh Technical University through the Government of Uttar Pradesh on 8 May 2000. To reduce workload and to ensure proper management, the university was bifurcated into separate universities, Gautam Buddh Technical University (GBTU) and Mahamaya Technical University (MTU), with effect from 1 May 2010. In 2013, as a new government came into power, the university was formed again by combining the two on 5 January 2013.
Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology Bhopal is a public technical university located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. The Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) an autonomous institute is located at Sarang of Parjang block in Dhenkanal district in the Indian state of Odisha. It was established in 1982 by the government of Odisha. In addition to four year undergraduate degree courses, it offers three year Diploma courses in technical disciplines and a 3-year postgraduate degree in computer applications. It also offers five year BArch courses. It offers postgraduate degree courses in engineering. The college has 179 acres (0.72 km2) of land and it is situated near the country. Currently, Dr. Satyabrata Mohanta is the director of the institute.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur is a state university in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India. Founded in 1946, it has since 1973 been a constituent college of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, as set by The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Act, 1972. The Engineering College Kota is an autonomous technical institute in Northern India.
