Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University, formerly Andhra Pradesh Horticultural University, is a state university located at Venkataramannagudem, near Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 2007 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and focuses on education and research of horticultural science.
Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University was established in 2007 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as the Andhra Pradesh Horticultural University, together with three colleges of horticulture, at Venkataramannagudem in West Godavari district, Mojerla in Mahaboob Nagar district and Anantharajupet in Kadapa district, as well as some educational programmes which were offered under Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University. It was originally managed by a government official until the appointment of the first Vice-Chancellor in 2008, when it became independent. [1] It was renamed as Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University in 2011. [2]

Rajahmundry, officially Rajamahendravaram, is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and district headquarters of East Godavari district. It is the seventh most populated city in the state. During British rule, the district of Rajahmundry was created in the Madras Presidency in 1823. It was reorganised in 1859 and bifurcated into the Godavari and Krishna districts. The West Godavari district is a coastal district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh with an administrative headquarters in Bhimavaram. As of the 2011 Census of India, the district has an area of 2,178 km2 (841 sq mi) and a population of 1,779,935. It is bounded by the Krishna district and Bay of Bengal to the south, East Godavari district to the east, and Eluru district, Kolleru Lake and Upputeru Drain to the northwest.
Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy, popularly known as YSR, was an Indian politician. He served as the 14th chief minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009. Reddy was elected four terms to the Lok Sabha from Kadapa and was also elected six terms to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Pulivendula. Over the course of his career, he won every election that he contested, either to Assembly or Lok Sabha.

It is a part of Eluru Urban Development Authority. As of 2011 census, it is the most populous urban area in the district with a population of 163,875. It is one of the major pilgrimage centers in the state, which is home to Somaramam, one of the five great Pancharama Kshetras.
Palakollu or Palacole is a town and the administrative headquarters of Palakollu Mandal in Narasapuram revenue division in West Godavari district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Palakollu is situated in Coastal Andhra region of the state. It occupies 4.685 square kilometres (1.809 sq mi). As of 2011 census, it had a population of about 61,284 and a Metro population of about 81,199. Palakollu Municipality merged five Grama panchayats of Seven village's on 7 January 2020. The Seven Villages' had a population of 42,932 as of 2011 Census. It around occupies 20.08 square kilometres (7.75 sq mi) and after merged palakollu municipality, It around occupies 24.68 square kilometres (9.53 sq mi) with 35 election wards it is total population of 1,04,216 and making it the third most populous urban area in West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. It is a part of Eluru Urban Development Authority.

Yeduguri Sandinti Jagan Mohan Reddy, also known mononymously as Jagan, is an Indian politician, currently serving as the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Pulivendula Assembly constituency in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative assembly. He served as the 17th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2019 to 2024, and is the current president of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). He is also the son of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao is the former minister for Civil Supplies and consumer affairs in Andhra Pradesh government. He is Member of the Legislative Assembly of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, representing Tanuku. He is a member of the YSR Congress party. He started his political career in Congress Party, he was General Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee from 2009 to 2014. He also served as chairperson for West Godavari Zilla Parishad for three years before being elected as MLA for the first time in 2009. He was awarded honorary doctorate in social service by Westbrook University, US in 2007. He has been appointed General Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee on 9 June 2013. He was elected for second term as MLA from Tanuku in 2019 elections representing YSR Congress. He is the former cabinet Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs in Andhra Pradesh.
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party, often shortened to simply the YSR Congress Party, is an Indian regional political party based in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The party was initially registered with Election Commission of India by Kolishetti Shiva Kumar. Thereafter, the party was taken over by its current president, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, having served as the state's chief minister from 2019-2024. It currently has 4 seats in the Lok Sabha.

Dr. C. V. S. K. Sarma is an economist and a retired IAS officer with exceptional public service record. He served as an IAS officer from 1980 to 2013, and retired as the Agriculture Production Commissioner & Spl. Chief Secretary to Government, Agriculture & Coop. Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh. He was also the Vice Chancellor, A.P. Horticulture University before he retired.
Konaseema district, is one of the 26 districts in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is situated between the tributaries of the Godavari River in the Konaseema region of Coastal Andhra. It was carved out of East Godavari district on 4 April 2022 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Amalapuram is the district headquarters and the largest city in this district. The district shares boundaries with West Godavari, East Godavari and Kakinada districts.
