Saveetha Amaravati University is a private university [3] located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. Established in 2018, [4] it is the third private university to be established in Amaravati, following SRM University, Andhra Pradesh and VIT-AP University. [5] The university offers undergraduate studies in health sciences. [6]

The Telugu Desam Party, is a regional Indian political party active in the southern states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The party was found by N. T. Rama Rao on 29 March 1982. Since 1995 the party has been headed by N. Chandrababu Naidu, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The party's headquarters is located at NTR Bhavan in Hyderabad. It is a Party which has a strong presence both at state level and central politics. Saveetha Institute of Medical And Technical Sciences is a private and deemed-to-be-university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It has nine disciplines of studies: Dental College, School of Management, School of Law, School of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Physiotherapy, School of Nursing and Medical College. The first three disciplines are in Poonamalle while the rest are in Thandalam. Saveetha Engineering College is an Anna University-affiliated institution. Centurion University of Technology and Management, Andhra Pradesh is a private university located at Tekkali Village in Nellimarla mandal, Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The university was established in 2017 by the Centurion School of Rural Enterprise Management Trust through the Andhra Pradesh Private Universities Act, 2016. It offers various diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as a Ph.D program. The university started operation in July 2017 from a temporary campus near Anandapuram and have a permanent campus near Vizianagaram in the future. It is a sister university of Centurion University of Technology and Management in Odisha.

Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) is a central university located in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, India.

The 2019–2022 Amaravati protests simply known as Amaravati protests, are ongoing demonstrations in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh triggered by the idea of three capitals by Government of Andhra Pradesh, and the Expert panel, BCG committee reports. The demonstrations are against the Andhra Pradesh Decentralisation and Inclusive Development of All Regions Act, 2020, which allows the state government to establish three capitals at different locations. This led to concerns that the decision would create chaos and insecurity fears for farmers who gave their fertile agricultural lands to the government in 29 villages of Guntur and Krishna districts. The protests began in Mandadam, Thullur, Uddandarayunipalem on 18 December 2019. In a few days, the protests spread across Andhra Pradesh Capital Region, in Andhra Pradesh. On 17 December 2020, series of events were done to mark the protests' anniversary.

The Andhra Pradesh Decentralisation and Inclusive Development of All Regions Act, 2020 is an act of Andhra Pradesh Legislature aimed at the decentralisation of governance in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The bill was proposed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to establish three capitals at different places in the state namely Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, and Kurnool, which will serve as executive, legislative and judicial capitals respectively.
