Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh (CTUAP) is an Indian Central University yet to be located in Marrivalasa, Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, India. As of 2021 [update] , it is operating from a transit campus, and its final location is yet to be finalised.
The establishment of CTUAP by the central government was required under the thirteenth schedule to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 . [1]
In 2015 the university has been allotted 525 acres of land in Relli Village, Vizianagaram district by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. [2] The union cabinet has sanctioned ₹834 crore (US$100 million) for the construction of the university, out of which ₹420 crore (US$50 million) were sanctioned for the first phase of construction. [3] The Andhra University campus in Kondakarakam village, Vizianagaram district has been identified as transit campus to begin the academic and administrative activities for the academic year 2019–20 and the CTUAP will be moved to its own building in Relli village upon completion of its own buildings. [4] Andhra University was assigned the position of mentor university. [2]
In 2019 the university was officially established, through the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2019. [5] In August 2020, T.V. Kattimani was appointed the first vice-chancellor of the university. [6]
As of January 2021 [update] , the final location of the university has not been finalised. [7] A parcel of land that was identified in Kuntinavalasa in Mentada mandal was found satisfactory by the officials who visited it, [7] although this is not the only location proposed, and other locations are considered at Pachipenta mandal, at Chinnamedapalli in Mentada mandal and at Marrivalasa in Dattirajeru mandal. [8]
The university is governed by the rules set by the Central Universities Act, 2009. [9] The president of India is the visitor of the university. The chancellor is the ceremonial head of the university while the executive powers rest with the vice-chancellor. The court, the executive council, the academic council, the board of studies and the finance committee are the administrative authorities of the university. [9]
The university court is the supreme authority of the university and has the power to review, the broad policies and programmes of the university and to suggest measures for the improvement and development of the university; The executive council is the highest executive body of the University. The academic council is the highest academic body of the university and is responsible for the co-ordination and exercising general supervision over the academic policies of the university. It has the right to advise the executive council on all academic matters. The finance committee is responsible for recommending financial policies, goals, and budgets. [9]
CTUAP offers postgraduate, integrated and diploma courses. [10] Admission is through an entrance exam conducted by Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). [11]
The University of Allahabad is a Public Central University located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established on 23 September 1887 by an act of Parliament and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance (INI). It is the 4th oldest modern University in India. Its origins lie in the Muir Central College, named after Lt. Governor of North-Western Provinces Sir William Muir in 1873, who suggested the idea of a Central University at Allahabad, which later evolved to the present university. Its Central University status was re-established through the University of Allahabad Act 2005 by the Parliament of India.
Vizianagaram district is one of the six districts in the Uttarandhra region of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh with its headquarters located at Vizianagaram. The district was once the part of ancient Kalinga.Saripilli Dibbilingeswara temple, Jayathi Mallikarjuna Temple are the finest examples of ancient Eastern Ganga Dynasty built monuments in the district. The district is bounded on the east by the district of Srikakulam, north by Parvathipuram Manyam south by Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, southeast by the Bay of Bengal, and west by Alluri Sitharama Raju district. It was formed on 1 June 1979, with some parts carved from the neighbouring districts of Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam. The district is named after the princely state of Vizianagaram. In 2011, it was the least populous district in Andhra Pradesh.

Central University of Himachal Pradesh is a central research university located in Dharamshala, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is operating from a temporary campus at Shahpur, Kangra district, pending the construction of two permanent campuses, at Dehra and Dharamsala. The university was founded in 2009 as a result of the government's policy to establish Central Universities in each of the states that do not already have a central university. "Tatipudi Reservoir" is a dam located on River Gosthani in Andhra Pradesh. It is a water supply reservoir to the city of Visakhapatnam. Thatipudi Reservoir Project was constructed across Gosthani River during 1963–1968. The Project is aimed to irrigate a total ayacut of 15,378 acres (62 km2) in Vizianagaram District and to provide drinking water to Visakhapatnam City. The Project utilizes 3.325 tmcft of the available water and the reservoir storage capacity is about 3 tmcft. The Cost of the project is Rs. 1,820 crores. The Ayacut of 15,378 acres (62 km2) has been stabilised in Gantyada, S.Kota and Jami Mandals of Vizianagaram District.

Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU) is an autonomous central university at Fursatganj Airfield in Uttar Pradesh, India, for aviation studies and research. It is under the administration of the Ministry of Civil Aviation of the Government of India, constituted by an Act of Parliament in 2013 and physically established in 2018. It is India's first aviation university.
Centurion University of Technology and Management, Andhra Pradesh is a private university located at Tekkali Village in Nellimarla mandal, Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The university was established in 2017 by the Centurion School of Rural Enterprise Management Trust through the Andhra Pradesh Private Universities Act, 2016. It offers various diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as a Ph.D. program. The university started operation in July 2017 from a temporary campus near Anandapuram and have a permanent campus near Vizianagaram in the future. It is a sister university of Centurion University of Technology and Management in Odisha.

The university was named after Tanguturi Prakasam, a political leader, social reformer and anti-colonial nationalist. He served as the chief minister of Madras Presidency and subsequently became the first chief minister of erstwhile Andhra State. He was known as "Andhra Kesari" which translates to "Lion of Andhra".
