Short Beach is a beach neighborhood situated in Branford, Connecticut. It is the westernmost of Branford's seven neighborhoods, the others being: The Hill, The Center, Pine Orchard, Stony Creek, Indian Neck, and Brushy Hill. Short Beach's population is approximately 2,500. About a half mile long, it is situated in New Haven County and is bordered by East Haven to the west, Branford to the north and east and Long Island Sound to the south. It is home to many small islands, the largest being Kelsey's Island which has a few small cabins used as summer homes.

Historic Summit Inn Resort, also known as the Summit Hotel, is a historic hotel complex and national historic district located atop the Summit Mountain of Chestnut Ridge by North Union Township and South Union Township in Farmington, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The district includes eight contributing buildings and three contributing structures. The main hotel building was built in 1907, and is a three-story, stone and stucco Mission style building. The features a parapeted gable and two four-story square towers. The building was expanded in 1923. Also on the property are the contributing carriage house, staff dormitory, stable / garage, two cottages, and Olympic-sized swimming pool, pool house, pavilion / concession stand and two water storage tanks.

The cottage community was originally developed by Quakers and the cottages reflect popular early-20th-century architectural styles including Stick/Eastlake, Shingle Style, and Bungalow / American Craftsman. The Pocono Manor Inn was built in nine sections between 1902 and 1949. The seven earliest sections, built between 1902 and 1926, were designed by noted Philadelphia architect Walter Smedley.
