East London Arts & Music (also known as ELAM) is a free school sixth form located in Bromley-by-Bow in East London, England. [1]
Established in 2014, ELAM is for students aged 16 to 19 who wish to pursue a career in music, games design or film and TV. [2] [3]
In April 2017 ELAM moved into its permanent home in Bromley-by-Bow, East London. Prior to this ELAM was based at School 21 in Stratford. [4]
In May 2017 ELAM was graded Outstanding in every category by Ofsted in its first full inspection. [5]
ELAM does not have set grade boundaries for prospective students, however each applicant is assessed on a case-by-case basis. The course structure of ELAM requires all students to study an Extended Diploma in Music, Games Design or Film and Television in addition to English and Mathematics courses (ranging from GCSE to A-level grade depending on the student's previous achievement). The Guildhall School of Music and Drama is a music and drama school located in the City of London, England. Bromley College of Further and Higher Education, trading as London South East Colleges (LSEC), is a large college of further education and higher education operating in south-east London, England. Abbs Cross Academy and Arts College is situated on Abbs Cross Lane, Hornchurch, in the London Borough of Havering, England. Abbs Cross Academy and Arts College is an Arts College. The school has a strong link with Havering Sixth Form College in which a majority of its students go on to attend. Harris Science Academy East London (HSAEL), formerly known as East London Science School (ELSS), is a coeducational secondary free school with specialist school status in science and language in Stratford, Bromley and Bow, in the London boroughs of Newham and Tower Hamlets. It was founded on Three Mills Island in its first temporary and current main site, the Clock Mill, by its first principal, David Perks, in 2013. The school originally planned to move to its permanent site two years after its opening, however this has yet to occur. The new building is being built by Berkeley Homes as part of its Twelvetrees Park development project and is expected to be complete sometime in 2022.
