Edayil Madhom is one of the four ancient South Indian madhoms that propagate Adwaita or Non dualism. It is located at Thrissur City in Kerala. [1]

Vadakkunnathan Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva at city of Thrissur, of Kerala state in India. This temple is a classic example of the architectural style of Kerala and has monumental towers on all four sides and also a kuttambalam. Mural paintings depicting various episodes from Mahabharata can be seen inside the temple.. The shrines and the Kuttambalam display vignettes carved in wood. Dashanami Sanyasi is a Hindu monastic tradition of "single-staff renunciation" generally associated with the Advaita Vedanta tradition. The disciples of Adi Shankaracharya are also called "Dash Nam Sanyasi" as the Title is further divided into ten groups viz. So the four disciples of Sankara founded four madhoms nearby. Suresvara founded Naduvil Madhom, Padmapada Thekke Madhom, Hastamalaka Idayil Madhom, and Thodaka Vadakke Madhom. Sri Suresvaracharya appointed Vilvamangalathu Swamiyar as the first Mooppil Swamiyar (head) of Naduvil Madhom.
