Ederson Vilela Pereira (born 6 June 1990) is a Brazilian distance runner who competes in events from 1500 metres to the marathon. He was the gold medallist in the 10,000 metres at the 2019 Pan American Games. [1] He has also won medals in the 5000 metres at the 2017 South American Championships in Athletics and the 3000 metres at the 2016 Ibero-American Championships in Athletics. [2]

Pereira has represented his nation in cross country running four times at the World Athletics Cross Country Championships (2008, 2009, 2011, 2013) and shared in team titles with the Brazilian men at the South American Cross Country Championships in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2013. [3] He competed at the 2020 World Athletics Half Marathon Championships. [2]

He holds personal bests of 13:23.24 minutes for the 5000 metres, 28:27.47 for the 10,000 metres and 2:13:15 hours for the marathon. He is a three-time national champion at the Troféu Brasil de Atletismo, winning in the 5000 m in 2013 and in the 10,000 metres in 2018 and 2019. [2]

Inés Melchor is a Peruvian long-distance runner. She competed in the marathon at the 2012 Summer Olympics, placing 25th with a time of 2:28:54. In September 2014 she placed 8th at the Berlin Marathon with a time of 2:26.48, new Peruvian national record and the South America area record. Melchor also holds Peruvian records for the 5000 and 10,000 metres on the track.

The Central American and Caribbean Cross Country Championships was an annual Cross country running competition organized by the CACAC for athletes representing the countries of its member associations. The competition was established in 1983 following a proposal of Wallace Williams from the Virgin Islands, then secretary of the CACAC. The rationale was that also smaller countries without adequate athletics' facilities could host such an event. The approval for the competitions' implementation was given during the 1982 CACAC meeting in Havana. Carlos Martín Díaz del Río is a Chilean middle-distance runner who competes mainly in the 1500 metres. He holds a Chilean Record of 3:37.86 minutes for the distance. He was the gold medallist in the event at the South American Championships in Athletics in 2015.

Fabiana Cristine da Silva is a Brazilian female former distance runner who competed in the 800 metres up to the half marathon. She competed six times at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships and also represented her country at the 2010 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships and the 2011 Pan American Games.
