Eivind Henriksen OLY (born 14 September 1990) is a Norwegian athlete competing in hammer throw. He is a three-time Olympian and won the silver medal in the men's hammer throw event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Henriksen is also a World Championships and European Championships bronze medalist, and a thirteen-time Norwegian champion in hammer throw. [1]
Henriksen made his Olympic debut at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. [2] [3] He placed fifth at the 2018 European Championships and sixth at the 2019 World Championships. Henriksen won the silver medal in the men's hammer throw event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, while also setting a new Norwegian record in the event at 81.58 metres. [2] [4]
Henriksen won bronze medals in the hammer throw events at the 2022 World Championships and the 2022 European Championships. [5] He competed in the men's hammer throw event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, placing fourth in the event. [6]
Andreas Thorkildsen is a retired Norwegian track and field athlete who competed in the javelin throw. He was the Olympic Champion in 2004 and 2008, European Champion in 2006 and 2010, and World Champion in 2009. He is the first male javelin thrower in history to simultaneously be European, World and Olympic Champion. He was also a three-time silver medalist at the World Championships, placing second in 2005, 2007 and 2011. His personal best of 91.59 m, set in 2006, is the Norwegian record.

Kristian Blummenfelt is a Norwegian triathlete, Olympic and world champion, competing at short course, 70.3 (half-Ironman) and 140.6 (Ironman) distances. He won the gold medal in the men's triathlon at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He is the 2021 Ironman World Champion at the first World Championship held at Saint George, Utah on May 7, 2022. On 5 June 2022, Blummenfelt became the first person to complete an Ironman-distance triathlon in under seven hours during the Pho3nix Sub-7 Sub-8 event at the Lausitzring race track in Germany. Blummenfelt set a new unofficial world record for the Ironman-distance triathlon, in a time of 6:44:25.
The men's hammer throw event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place between 2 and 4 August 2021 at the Japan National Stadium. Approximately 35 athletes were expected to compete; the exact number was dependent on how many nations used universality places to enter athletes in addition to the 32 qualifying through distance or ranking. 31 athletes from 21 nations competed. Wojciech Nowicki of Poland won the gold medal, adding to his 2016 bronze to become the 15th man to earn multiple hammer throw medals. It was Poland's second gold medal in the event, after Szymon Ziółkowski's 2000 victory. Nowicki's countryman Paweł Fajdek took bronze. Between them was Norwegian thrower Eivind Henriksen, with his silver being Norway's first-ever Olympic medal in the men's hammer.
