The Elgin Racers were a franchise of the International Basketball League. [1] They played their home games at the Lindner Fitness Center at Judson University and the Spartan Events Center in Elgin, Illinois.
The International Basketball League (IBL) was a semi-professional men's basketball league featuring teams from the West Coast of the United States. In 2010 the Albany Legends became the first team in the Northeastern United States to join. The IBL also sometimes featured teams from China and Japan which temporarily relocated to the United States for the IBL season. The IBL season typically ran from the end of March through July.
The Lindner Fitness Center is a multi-purpose arena located in Elgin, Illinois, United States on the campus of Judson University. It is in the Eastern corner of the campus and faces the soccer field. The Fitness Center has two basketball courts which double as volleyball courts. A track runs around the edge of the gymnasium, raised above the floor.
Judson University is an evangelical Christian liberal arts university in Elgin, Illinois. It was founded in 1963. Judson was formed out of the liberal arts component of Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. When the seminary moved from Chicago to Lombard, Illinois, it was decided to make the college separate from the seminary. Originally as Judson College, it was named after Adoniram Judson, the first American Baptist missionary to foreign shores. The university has campuses in Elgin and Rockford, Illinois, and a student body of approximately 1,300. Judson College became Judson University on August 28, 2007.
The Windy City Dawgs were an International Basketball League team based in Palatine, Illinois. The team played home games at Harper College.
Palatine is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is a northwestern residential suburb of Chicago. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 65,479. In the 2010 census its population had risen to 68,557, making it the seventh-largest community in Cook County and the 18th-largest in the state of Illinois.
William Rainey Harper College is a comprehensive community college in Palatine, Illinois, United States. The college was established by referendum in 1965 and opened in September 1967. It is named for William Rainey Harper, a pioneer in the junior college movement in the United States and the first president of the University of Chicago.
The Dawgs featured four all-stars; Brandon Moore, Ryan Edwards, Sherick Simpson and Brandon Watkins. Watkins (21.4 ppg) and Marlon London (25.4 ppg) were in the top in scoring. The team was 7-8 overall.
The team went through two owners, the second of which, Bob Fischer, moved the team to Elgin, Illinois for 2006.
Elgin is a city in Cook and Kane counties in the northern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. Located roughly 35 mi (56 km) northwest of Chicago, it lies along the Fox River. As of 2017, the city had an estimated population of 112,456, making it the eighth-largest city in Illinois.
The franchise, rechristened the Racers, played home games at the Linder Fitness Center on the campus of Judson University. The Racers finished 16-6 in their inaugural season, good for third place in the East Division. The Racers were coached by James Condill in both 2005 and 2006.
For 2007, the Racers moved to the Spartan Events Center. They also named Michael Murphy as head coach.
The team folded in 2008, the IBL ceased operations in 2015.

Kathryn Elizabeth "Katie" Douglas is a retired American professional basketball player. Her primary position is shooting guard, her secondary is small forward. She was known league-wide as one of the most prominent two-way players for her long-range shooting and high scoring abilities on offence as well as her defensive abilities. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Douglas is left-handed.

The South Bay Lakers are an American professional basketball team of the NBA G League, based in Los Angeles. Founded in 2006 as the Los Angeles D-Fenders, the team is owned by the Los Angeles Lakers, who were the first National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise to own a D-League team. At the conclusion of the 2016–17 D-League season, the D-Fenders re-branded as the South Bay Lakers for the G League. The Chicago Bandits are a women's professional softball team based in Rosemont, Illinois. Since the 2005 season, they have played as a member of National Pro Fastpitch (NPF). The Bandits won the 2008 NPF championship, defeating the Washington Glory in the final game of the championship series. The team won their second NPF championship following the 2011 season when they won the championship series two games to none over the USSSA Pride. Following the 2015 season the team won its third NPF championship defeating the USSSA Pride two games to none. They play their home games at Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois.

The 2000–01 Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team represented Michigan State University in the 2000–01 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Tom Izzo, in his sixth year as head coach, led the team that played their home games at Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan and were members of the Big Ten Conference. The Spartans finished the season with a record of 27–5, 13–3 to finish in a tie for the Big Ten regular season championship for the fourth consecutive year. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. For the third consecutive year, they received a No. 1 seed and reached the Final Four before falling to Arizona.
The 2003–04 Princeton Tigers men's basketball team represented Princeton University in intercollegiate college basketball during the 2003–04 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The head coach was John Thompson III and the team captains were Ed Persia and Judson Wallace. The team played its home games in the Jadwin Gymnasium on the University campus in Princeton, New Jersey, and was the champion of the Ivy League, which earned them an invitation to the 65-team 2004 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament where they were seeded fourteenth in the Atlanta Region. Following the season Thompson departed to coach Georgetown where his father John Thompson, Jr. had coached for decades. He was replaced by Joe Scott. Both Scott and the younger Thompson are former Princeton Tigers basketball captains.

The Kane County Dawgs were a professional indoor American football team based in Kane County, Illinois. The team joined the Continental Indoor Football League in 2013 as an expansion team. The Dawgs were one of three indoor football teams based in the Chicago metropolitan area. The Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League are based in Rosemont, and the Chicago Slaughter of the Indoor Football League are based in Hoffman Estates. The CIFL has had the Chicago Pythons which replaced the Chicago Knights, formerly the Chicago Cardinals, as the Illinois-based CIFL team, which replaced the Slaughter after they left for the Indoor Football League after a dispute with CIFL management. The Owners of the Dawgs are Mike Dortch and Macey Brooks. The Dawgs played their home games at the Seven Bridges Ice Arena in 2013.

They played their home games at Jenison Fieldhouse in East Lansing, Michigan and were coached by Gus Ganakas in his seventh and final year as head coach of the Spartans. MSU finished the season 14–13, 10–8 in Big Ten play to finish in fourth place.
