Fairmount Historic District is a national historic district located in the Fairmount neighborhood of York in York County, Pennsylvania. The district includes 101 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in a residential area of York. The neighborhood was developed between 1889 and about 1915, and includes notable examples of the Queen Anne and Second Empire styles. [2]

Fairmount Park is the largest municipal park in Philadelphia and the historic name for a group of parks located throughout the city. Fairmount Park consists of two park sections named East Park and West Park, divided by the Schuylkill River, with the two sections together totalling 2,052 acres (830 ha). Management of Fairmount Park and the entire citywide park system is overseen by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, a city department created in 2010 from the merger of the Fairmount Park Commission and the Department of Recreation.

Poplar is a neighborhood in Lower North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located north of Callowhill, between Spring Garden/Fairmount and Northern Liberties, bounded roughly by Girard Avenue to the north, North Broad Street to the west, Spring Garden Street to the south, and 5th Street to the east. Fairmount Rowing Association is an amateur rowing club, founded in 1877. The facility, located at #2 Boathouse Row in the historic Boathouse Row of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Fairmount originally catered to blue-collar youths living in the Fairmount neighborhood. In 1916, after decades of being rejected, the club was finally allowed to join the Schuylkill Navy. The Club boasts being known as the "premiere club for Masters rowing in the mid-Atlantic region" and has produced several world class rowers.
The Fairmount Historic District is a 409-acre (166 ha) historic district located along County Route 517 in the Fairmount section of Tewksbury Township, near Califon, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 20, 1996 for its significance in architecture, exploration/settlement, and industry. The district includes 72 contributing buildings that were deemed to be contributing to the historic character of the area, plus five contributing structures, nine contributing sites, and one contributing object. One contributing building is located in Washington Township, Morris County.

John A. Dempwolf (1848–1926) was a German-born American architect practicing in York, Pennsylvania from 1876 until his death in 1926. In association with his brother Reinhardt Dempwolf and son Frederick G. Dempwolf, he was responsible for the design of some five hundred buildings in and around Pennsylvania.

Notable commercial and industrial buildings date to the early 20th century through 1930, and are in the early modern and Art Deco styles. Notable non-residential buildings include the A.F. Bernot and Brothers dye works (1900–01), Gaul, Derr, and Shearer building, Security Elevator factory (1925), and the Alemite Lubricator Company offices (1925).
