Fiesta Foods

Fiesta Foods is the name of three different grocery store chains in the United States. One is located in South Dakota and operated one store. Fiesta Foods chain stores in California tend to a Hispanic clientele with other cultures, specializing in Mexican cuisine English cuisine and other foreign cuisines. These stores serve southeastern Washington and northeastern Oregon.

As the southern part of the former Dakota Territory, South Dakota became a state on November 2, 1889, simultaneously with North Dakota. Pierre is the state capital and Sioux Falls, with a population of about 187,200, is South Dakota's largest city.

California State of the United States of America

California is a state in the Pacific Region of the United States. With 39.6 million residents, California is the most populous U.S. state and the third-largest by area. The state capital is Sacramento. The Greater Los Angeles Area and the San Francisco Bay Area are the nation's second- and fifth-most populous urban regions, with 18.7 million and 9.7 million residents respectively. Los Angeles is California's most populous city, and the country's second-most populous, after New York City. California also has the nation's most populous county, Los Angeles County, and its largest county by area, San Bernardino County. The City and County of San Francisco is both the country's second-most densely populated major city after New York City and the fifth-most densely populated county, behind only four of the five New York City boroughs.

In the 1980s, Fiesta Foods, Inc. was the name of a Mexican Food manufacturing company that had plants located in Texas and Colorado. The company was owned by Brad Corbett.

It previously operated stores as Waremart Food Centers and Cub Foods until 1999. WinCo foods began reestablishing Waremart Foods in 2017. WinCo has 122 retail stores and six distribution centers with over 18,000 employees.

Safeway Inc. American supermarket chain

Safeway is an American supermarket chain founded in April 1915 in American Falls, Idaho by Marion Barton Skaggs. It is a subsidiary of Albertsons after being acquired by private equity investors led by Cerberus Capital Management in January 2015. Safeway's primary base of operations is in the western and central United States, with some stores located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the Eastern Seaboard. The subsidiary is headquartered in Pleasanton, California, with its parent company headquartered in Boise, Idaho.

Fred Meyer is a chain of hypermarket superstores founded in 1922 in Portland, Oregon by Fred G. Meyer. The stores are located in the western U.S. states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska. The company merged with Kroger in 1998, though the stores are still branded Fred Meyer. The chain was one of first in the United States to promote one-stop shopping, eventually combining a complete grocery supermarket with a drugstore, bank, clothing, jewelry, home decor, home improvement, garden, electronics, restaurant, shoes, sporting goods, and toys.

Brookshire Grocery Company is a Tyler, Texas-based supermarket chain with more than a 177 stores operating in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas with their four banners, Brookshire's, Super 1 Foods, Fresh by Brookshire's, and Spring Market.

Vons supermarket chain

Vons is a Southern California and Southern Nevada supermarket chain owned by Albertsons. It is headquartered in Fullerton, California, and operates stores under the Vons and Pavilions banners. Before the acquisition by Albertsons, it was headquartered in Arcadia, California.

Pollo Tropical fast food restaurant chain

Founded in 1988, the chain has its headquarters in Doral, Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is best known for marinated and grilled chicken and various sides including black beans and rice, corn casserole and more.

Skaggs Companies was the predecessor to many famous United States retailing chains, including Safeway, Albertsons, Osco Drug, and Longs Drugs. The company owned several drugstore chains, but all of them were sold. Skaggs Cos. became American Stores in 1979.

Food 4 Less is a national grocery store grocery chain, currently owned by Kroger. It is a no-frills grocery store where the customers bag their own groceries at the checkout. Kroger operates Food 4 Less stores in California, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. In northern and central California, where Kroger does not have the rights to the Food 4 Less name, it operates as Foods Co.

Buttrey Food & Drug American grocery chain

Buttrey Food & Drug was a chain of grocery stores founded in Havre, Montana and formerly headquartered in Great Falls, Montana. The company was founded in 1896 as a chain of department stores branded Buttrey Department Store. The company opened grocery stores in 1935 and sold off its department store division following a 1966 acquisition by The Jewel Companies, Inc. Jewel was sold to American Stores in 1984 and Buttrey was sold off as a separate company in 1990. The company was sold to its main competitor, Boise, Idaho-based Albertsons, in January 1998 and the Buttrey name was retired. At that time, Buttrey was operating 44 stores in Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota with a revenue of $391.4 million.

Fiesta Mart Inc. is a Latino-American supermarket chain based in Houston, Texas that was established in 1972. Fiesta Mart stores are located in Texas. The chain uses a cartoon parrot as a mascot. As of 2004 it operated 34 supermarkets in Greater Houston, 16 supermarkets in other locations in Texas, and 17 Beverage Mart liquor store locations. During the same year it had 7.5% of the grocery market share in Greater Houston. Many of its stores were located in Hispanic neighborhoods and other minority neighborhoods.

Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores is a chain of American low-price warehouse grocery stores located in California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores are geared toward supplying food service operators like restaurants, but it also serves individuals similarly to Costco. Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores run 66 stores as of the end of 2018. The company operates 25 stores in Washington, 19 stores in Oregon, 14 stores in California, four stores in Idaho, two in Nevada, one in Utah and one in Montana. The company is based in Portland, Oregon. Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores offer brand-name and private-label groceries, including meat, dairy and fresh produce, as well as tableware, paper products, janitorial supplies and catering supplies. They are open seven days a week. Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores operate as an independent division of Smart & Final, LLC.

Stationstores are located in Alaska, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. It is based in Bloomington, Minnesota. It also ranked 133rd on Forbes' list of America's largest private companies. In July 2017, it was acquired by Montreal-based convenience store operator Alimentation Couche-Tard.

Foodarama

Foodarama, also known as Cox's Foodarama, is a supermarket chain in Texas, with its headquarters in Foodarama Store #1 in Brays Oaks, Houston. In Greater Houston, as of 2016 Foodarama operates ten stores. Carrol Cox is the founder and president of Foodarama. As of 2011, 1,000 people work for Foodarama. As of 2016 the Cox family are still the owners of the chain.
