Fluminicola is a fungal genus in the family Papulosaceae of the Ascomycota. The relationship of this taxon to other taxa within the Sordariomycetes class is unknown ( incertae sedis ), and it has not yet been placed with certainty into any order. [1] This was a monotypic genus, containing the single species Fluminicola bipolaris until new species were found in 2017 and 2021.
It was originally placed in the Annulatascaceae family but in 2020 it was placed in the Papulosaceae family due to an updated classification. [2]
As accepted by Species Fungorum; [3]
The Hypocreales are an order of fungi within the class Sordariomycetes. In 2008, it was estimated that it contained some 237 genera, and 2647 species in seven families. Since then, a considerable number of further taxa have been identified, including an additional family, the Stachybotryaceae. Wijayawardene et al. in 2020 added more families and genera to the order. According to the Catalog of Life, As of April 2021 the Hypocreales contains 6 families, 137 genera, and 1411 species. Hyde et al. (2020a) listed 14 families under Hypocreales, while, Wijayawardene et al. (2022) accepted 15 families in the order, where Cylindriaceae was additionally added. Earlier, Hyde et al. (2020a) had placed Cylindriaceae in class Xylariomycetidae. Samarakoon et al. (2022) agreed. Hence, Cylindriaceae should have been excluded from Hypocreales and placed in Xylariomycetidae. Xiao et al. (2022) recently introduced a new family Polycephalomycetaceae to Hypocreales.
Pleosporaceae is a family of sac fungi. They are pathogenic to humans or saprobic on woody and dead herbaceous stems or leaves.
The Dactylosporaceae or Sclerococcaceae are a family of lichen-forming fungi in the class Eurotiomycetes. It is the only family of the order Sclerococcales and subclass Sclerococcomycetidae.
Bertiella is a genus of fungi in the family Teichosporaceae. although Wijayawardene et al. 2020 places it within the Melanommataceae family.
Herpotrichiellaceae is a family of ascomycetous fungi within the order Chaetothyriales and within the class Eurotiomycetes. It contains 16 genera and about 270 species. The type genus of the family, Herpotrichiella, is now synonymous with Capronia.
Tremateia is a genus of fungi in the class Dothideomycetes. and in the family Didymosphaeriaceae and order Pleosporales.

Phragmitensis is a genus of fungi in the Ascomycota phylum.
Ascotaiwania is a genus of fungi in the Sordariomycetes class of the Ascomycota. In 2020, it was placed in the order Savoryellales and family of Savoryellaceae.
The Annulatascaceae are a family of fungi in the monotypic order Annulatascales of the class Sordariomycetes of the Ascomycota. The family had not been assigned to any order, until 2020 when it was placed with a new order Annulatascales M.J. D'souza, Maharachch. & K.D. Hyde.
The Papulosaceae are a family of fungi in the class Sordariomycetes and in the subclass Diaporthomycetidae. The family has not been assigned to any order. A monotypic taxon, the Papulosaceae contained the single genus Papulosa, which in turn contains the single species Papulosa amerospora. This species, found in the eastern USA, grows in Juncus stems.
Aquaticola is a genus of fungi in the Cephalothecaceae family of the Ascomycota. The relationship of this taxon to other taxa within the Sordariomycetes class is unknown, except that it is in subclass Diaporthomycetidae, and it has not yet been placed with certainty into any order.
Diluviicola is a genus of fungi in the Pseudoproboscisporaceae family and Atractosporales order, within the subclass class of Diaporthomycetidae.
Pseudoproboscispora is a genus of fungi in the Pseudoproboscisporaceae family of the Ascomycota. As accepted by Wijayawardene et al. 2020;
Jugulospora is a genus of fungi that was placed within the Lasiosphaeriaceae family, It was then moved into the Neoschizotheciaceae family. This was thought to be a monotypic genus, containing the single species Jugulospora rotula, until more species were found.
Lindgomyces is a genus of aquatic fungi in the family Lindgomycetaceae. Described as new to science in 2010, the genus contained six species known from Japan and the USA. More were added later, up to 14 species were accepted by Wijayawardene et al. 2020.
