Flying Bark Productions Pty Ltd is an Australian entertainment and animation studio. The studio acts as a full-service production facility across feature films, television and an assorted range of digital content. The studio was established by Yoram and Sandra Gross in 1967 as Yoram Gross Film Studios.

In 1996, the company's interest was sold to Village Roadshow Pictures, who renamed the company to Yoram Gross-Village Roadshow. [1] In 1997, it made a pact with Europe-based EM.TV & Merchandising AG, who handled a joint pact. [2] EM.TV bought out Village Roadshow's interest in 1998 when Village Roadshow was seeking a exit from television production, which was renamed to Yoram Gross-EM.TV. [3] In 2007, it was renamed to its current name, Flying Bark Productions. [4]

In 2008, Studio 100 bought out EM.TV's stake in the company, when EM.TV got out of the entertainment business. [5]

Tabaluga is a German media franchise featuring a fictional green dragon, created by German rock musician Peter Maffay, children's songwriter Rolf Zuckowski and author Gregor Rottschalk. Artist Helme Heine drew the image of Tabaluga as it is currently known. The character Tabaluga was first introduced by Maffay in the musical fairy tale Tabaluga ... oder die Reise zur Vernunft in 1983. Village Roadshow Pictures is an American film and television production company and subsidiary of the Australian co-producer and co-financier of major Hollywood motion pictures established in 1989. It is a division under Village Roadshow Entertainment Group (VREG), which in turn is owned by an Australian media company of the same name. It has produced over 100 films since its establishment in 1989 including, as co-productions with Warner Bros., The Matrix series, the Sherlock Holmes series, the Happy Feet series, the Ocean's series, The Lego Movie and Joker. The films in the Village Roadshow library have achieved 34 number-one U.S. box office openings and received 50 Academy Award nominations, 19 Academy Awards and six Golden Globe Awards.

<i>Adventures of the Little Koala</i> Japanese animated television series

Adventures of the Little Koala is an anime television series produced by Hakuhodo. It aired originally in Japan on TV Tokyo from October 4, 1984, through March 28, 1985, and then aired in the United States on Nickelodeon dubbed in English from June 1, 1987, until April 2, 1993. The storyline revolved around Roobear Koala and his friends and their utopian village in the Australian bush, known in the Japanese version as Yukari Village, within the shadow of a real rock formation known as The Breadknife.

<i>Blinky Bill</i> Childrens book by Dorothy Wall

Blinky Bill is an anthropomorphic koala and children's fictional character created by author and illustrator Dorothy Wall. The character of Blinky first appeared in Brooke Nicholls' 1933 book, Jacko – the Broadcasting Kookaburra, which was illustrated by Wall. Wall then featured Blinky Bill in a series of her own books, including Blinky Bill: The Quaint Little Australian, Blinky Bill Grows Up, and Blinky Bill and Nutsy. The books are considered quintessential Australian children's classics, and have never been out of print in Australia.

The Adventures of Blinky Bill is an Australian animated television series based on Dorothy Wall's books about Blinky Bill, and is a sequel series to the 1992 film Blinky Bill: The Mischievous Koala. The series is produced by the Yoram Gross companies: Yoram Gross Film Studios and Yoram Gross-EM.TV, with the main co-production of EM.TV and WDR. All three seasons of the series and the TV film were animated overseas by Colorland Animation Productions Co., Ltd. in Hong Kong. Set in Greenpatch, a fictional Australian bushland town, the series presents stories through the activities and misadventures of Blinky Bill, as well as his family and friends.

Maya the Honey Bee is an anime television series produced first by Zuiyo Enterprise and Asahi Broadcasting Corporation of Osaka. After the first 6 episodes, Zuiyo Enterprise would split into Zuiyo Company and Nippon Animation, which retained the rights of the series. The series consisted of 52 episodes and was originally telecast from April 1975 to April 1976 on the NET network, with which ABC is affiliated. Based on the classic children's book The Adventures of Maya the Bee by Waldemar Bonsels, the anime series has become extremely popular in Europe and has been rebroadcast in countries and languages all around the world since its premiere. <i>Tabaluga</i> (TV series) Australian animated series

Tabaluga is a German-Australian animated television series produced by Yoram Gross Film Studios and Yoram Gross-EM.TV, based on the character of the same name created by Peter Maffay. In this series, Tabaluga is the last of the dragons and lives in Greenland, a magical place inhabited by talking animals of many different species. Tabaluga must defend his home from Iceland,a frigid arctic tundra, ruled by the evil snowman Arktos. In Season 2,he must also deal with a searing desert, ruled by an evil sand-spirit named Humsin. It was shown on Seven Network in Australia and ZDF in Germany. It was also shown on the Fox Family Channel from 1998 to 2001 in the United States. In the first season, there are many references to the albums. For example, the snake, Bilingua and the spider Tarantula make one-off appearances in the series. Special mention goes to Lilli, who Tabaluga falls in love with in the third album, Tabaluga und Lilli. Season 1, Episode 23, Tabaluga and Lilli, is dedicated to their love story.
