Gameplay

The game is set in a fantasy persistent world where the player is the chief of a village, and is able to build many buildings for said village. [3] In Clash Of Clans, players build their village, attack enemy villages with their armies, and can join clans with other players.

Buildings

To build buildings, players require loot to build the buildings. The types of buildings include:

Army buildings include the Barracks, Spell Factories, Laboratory, Hero Hall, Blacksmith, Workshop, and Pet House. These buildings all serve a similar purpose, being that they either house or create [3] new troops, spells, and heroes for your army. Players can then use their armies to attack other players' villages, which gives resources and trophies, or the player can attack in a singleplayer campaign map for only resources.[ citation needed ]

Resource buildings include the Gold, Elixir, and Dark Elixir Storages, Gold Mines, Elixir Collectors, Dark Elixir Drills, the Clan Castle, and the Town Hall. These buildings all serve the purpose of passive resource gain, as the only other way to gain resources is via attacking other villages or the singleplayer campaign map.[ citation needed ]

Defensive buildings include the Walls, Cannons, Archer Towers, Mortars, Air Defenses, Wizard Towers, Air Sweepers, Hidden Teslas, Bomb Towers, X-Bows, Inferno Towers, Eagle Artillery, Giga Tesla, Scattershot, Giga Inferno, Builder's Hut, Spell Tower, Monolith, and Firespitter. These buildings serve the purpose of defending your village from other players when they attack.

Trap buildings include the Bomb, Spring Trap, Giant Bomb, Air Bomb, Seeking Air Mine, Skeleton Trap, Tornado Trap, and Giga Bomb. These buildings serve the same purpose as defensive buildings.

Trophies

Trophies are the game's way of showing points based on how much the player attacks, and how often they win. The player gains trophies after a successful attack, and loses trophies after a failed attack. Players need one star on the base or more to succeed in an attack, and stars on a base are given once the player has 50% destruction, the destruction of the Town Hall, and 100% destruction. [3] Likewise, with defenses, if the player's village loses to an attack, the player loses trophies, and if the player's village successfully defends the attack, then the player gains trophies.

Clans

Players can join clans, or create their own clans, once they have built the Clan Castle. In a Clan, players can message other players, request special donation troops from clanmates to use in battle, and participate in Clan War.

Requested troops are troops that players can request from their clanmates to donate to them. These troops can serve as extra defense when the players' village is under attack, or as extra offensive troops when the player is attacking.

Clan War is when a set amount of players in a clan matches with another clan to do a Clan War. Clan Wars place clans of similar strength against each other for players to build armies and attack enemy bases alongside their clanmates. Clan Wars do not affect trophies.
