Frank George Covelli (born 2 April 1937 in Paducah, Kentucky) is an American former javelin thrower who competed in the 1964 Summer Olympics and in the 1968 Summer Olympics. [1] He was the 1964 and 1968 American champion. [2] Throwing for Arizona State University, he was the 1963 NCAA Champion. [3] Later he threw for the Pacific Coast Club from Long Beach, California.
Alfred Oerter Jr. was an American athlete and a four-time Olympic Champion in the discus throw. He was the first athlete to win a gold medal in the same individual event in four consecutive Olympic Games. Oerter is an inductee of the IAAF Hall of Fame.

Morgan Groth ran the anchor and NCAA half mile champion, Norm Hoffman, joined Groth to set the world record. Morgan Groth also won the first ever Golden West Invitational with a national mile record of 4:10.0 in 1961. The top ten senior mile runners in the US were invited. He later ran for the Quantico Marines.
