Fraymakers is a platform fighting game developed by McLeodGaming. It was released in early access on Linux, macOS, and Windows PC via Steam on January 18, 2023. Its roster of playable characters is composed of crossover characters from other indie games, including Octodad (2010), Downwell (2015), Rivals of Aether (2017), Slay the Spire (2019), Slap City (2020), and the Bit.Trip series. Non-player character (NPC) "assists"—25 additional crossover characters from games such as Machinarium (2009), CrossCode (2018), and Ape Out (2019)—appear during gameplay to aid the player. [1] [3] An external content editor, "FrayTools", allows users to develop custom content for the game. [2]
Fraymakers is being developed by McLeodGaming—the developers of Super Smash Flash 2 —and Team Fray. [1] [4]
An early access version of Fraymakers was initially planned for release in 2022 and funded through a campaign on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter in late 2020. [2] The Kickstarter campaign raised over US$322,000. [1] [lower-alpha 1] In January 2023, the early access version was released on Linux, macOS, and Windows PC via the online storefront Steam. Armello is a 2015 digital role-playing strategy board game developed by League of Geeks. The Escapists is a strategy game played from a top-down perspective. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a 2019 action role-playing game developed by Japanese indie studio ArtPlay and published by 505 Games. The game's development was led by former Castlevania series producer Koji Igarashi and is considered a spiritual successor to the series. Monster Prom is a dating simulation game developed by Beautiful Glitch, a studio based in Barcelona and founded by Julián Quijano, and published by Those Awesome Guys. Indie Pogo is an indie crossover fighting video game developed and published by Lowe Bros. Studios. The game features characters and settings from more than 50 different indie games, such as Shovel Knight, VVVVVV, Teslagrad, the Bit.Trip series, and Freedom Planet. After being successfully funded via Kickstarter in October 2017, the game was released on Microsoft Windows in July 2018. A Nintendo Switch version is currently in development.
Poi is an independent 3D platform game released on Linux, macOS and Microsoft Windows via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
