Free TV (stylized as freetv) is a 24-hour Pan-Arab musical television channel owned by Nasr Mahrous and headquartered in Cairo, Egypt. Its main target demographic is teenagers, high school and college students and young adults. It has special partnerships with FreeMusic Art Production, Vevo, RedOne, Republic Records, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and Sony Music. [1]
According to the channel's owner, it was planned that Free TV would be launched in the summer of 2014, however, it was introduced to the world in 2015, via Nilesat. [2] Nasr Mahrous said also that the name of the channel was chosen in order to be similar with "FreeMusic", the name of the record label he owns. [2]
Its main objective is to combine different cultures through the language of entertainment, and to be a showcase of modern and classic Arab and international music blended together. and many other independent labels, in addition to international majors labels such as Vevo, RedOne, Republic Records, Sony, Universal and Warner Music Group.
Free TV is rated on the top of the musical television channels in North Africa and the Middle East, for providing an exclusive, outstanding and quality content of clips and programs, and creating awareness about new talents, songs and albums from all over the Arab world. [3] [4]
Free TV airs mainly western music videos and clips of artists signed to produced by Vevo, RedOne, Republic Records, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and Sony Music record label, the channel used to focus on then current music – with a heavier focus on so-called adult contemporary pop and pop rock than today, – as well as music from the channel also played some Hip Hop hits, from artists like Roddy Ricch and DaBaby., [1] as well as many Arabic music clips produced by FreeMusic Art Production record label, that is also owned by Nasr Mahrous. The channel shows video clips of Arabic and International music stars, coverage of international concerts, to distribute self-produced video clips and concerts, interviews with stars, and news programs on the international world and is managed by a team with over thirty years of experience in the music industry. The channel aims to be a platform for the youth, letting their opinions be a large factor in future programming. It will be likely that Free TV will be pushing local R&B and hip hop music. Until "Despacito" acquired the status of a global mega-hit, Free TV did not regularly play music sung in another language than English, but since Spanish-language música urbana became hugely popular outside of Latin America or the Latin American communities around the world in the late 2010s, the channel began to regularly play videos from artists like Luis Fonsi, J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Rosalía, Maluma, Anitta, as well Spanish songs by Shakira.

Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram has released 8 video albums and more than 40 music videos, appeared in numerous television programs and 24 television commercials. In 1997, Ajram released her debut music for the single "Oulha Kelma", produced by Future TV. One year later, she signed a recording contract with EMI and released her second music video "Mihtagalak", taken from her debut studio album Mihtagalak (1998), directed by Lebanese director Elie Feghali. Like the debut album, only one music video was directed for her second album, Sheel Oyoonak Anni. Ajram generated much attention in 2003 following the release of the music video for "Akhasmak Ah", her third studio album Ya Salam's lead single, which was found controversial owing to the depiction of overtly sexual activities. However, she later received praise in mid-2003 for the visual for the album's second single and title track "Ya Salam", which received a Murex d'Or Award for its positive portrayal of a star with a sad life inspired from the 1960s. The video was directed by Nadine Labaki as a second collaboration with Ajram.

Ahmed Chawki, known professionally by his stage name Chawki, is a Moroccan singer, songwriter and producer. Chawki began his career in the early 2000s. On occasion of the 2014 World Cup, he was featured in a football-themed song "Magic in the Air" by Magic System, a hit in France and Belgium. He is currently signed to RedOne Records, an international record label founded and owned by the renowned producer.
