Two athletes represented Gabon in athletics. [1]
Guy Maganga competed in the men's 100 metres and men's 200 metres events. [2] In the men's 100 metres event he did not qualify in the heats and in the men's 200 metres event he finished in 4th place in the final. [2]
Pierrick Moulin competed in the women's 100 metres and women's 200 metres events. [3] For both events, she competed in the heats and did not advance to the semifinals. [3]
Two athletes competed in boxing: Junior Mikamou and Franck Mombey. [4] [5]
Mikamou competed in the men's flyweight (52kg) event and Mombey competed in the men's featherweight (57kg) event. [4] [5] Neither of them won a medal. [4] [5]
Seven athletes represented Gabon in judo: Karene Agono, Philomene Dialli, Aboubakre Gotalowia, Junior Kouamba, Harnold Koussou, Luc Manongho and Sarah Myriam Mazouz.
Ulrich Ndong (men's Kumite -84kg), Nguema Edang Marie (men's Kumite -75kg), David Obissa (men's Kumite -60kg) and Brolin Youla (men's Kumite -67kg) competed in karate.

Adam Mpali competed in the men's 50 metre breaststroke and in the men's 50 metre freestyle events. [7] In both events he did not advance to compete in the final. [7]
Aya Mpali competed in the women's 50 metre freestyle and the women's 50 metre butterfly events. [7] In both events she did not advance to compete in the final. [7]

Anthony Obame competed at the 2019 African Games. [11] He won the bronze medal in the men's +87 kg event. [12]
Urgence Mouega won the bronze medal in the Women's -67 kg event. [13]
Leila Bamizock competed in the women's –46 kg event, Amar Moussa competed in the men's –68 kg event and Hermen Doupassou competed in the men's –74 kg event.
Herve Antchandie, Wilfrid Lebendje, Celestine Avomo and Maria Nyonda competed in tennis.
Antchandie and Lebendje competed in the men's singles event. Together they also competed in the men's doubles event.

Equatorial Guinea competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, which was held from 8 to 24 August 2008. The country's participation at London marked its seventh appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1984 Summer Olympics. The delegation included the sprinter Reginaldo Ndong, middle-distance runner Emilia Mikue Ondo and half-middleweight judoka José Mba Nchama. Ndong and Mikue Ondo qualified for the Games through wildcard places and Mba Nchama entered through his ranking at the 2007 African Judo Championships. Mikue Ondo was chosen as the flag bearer for both the opening and closing ceremonies. Ndong and Mikue Ondo progressed no farther than the first round of their respective events and Mba Nchama was eliminated from contention in the second round of the contest.
