Botswana competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. [1] In total, 103 athletes represented Botswana at the games. [2] Athletes representing Botswana won five gold medals, three silver medals and six bronze medals and the country finished in 13th place in the medal table.

Botswana competed in Taekwondo. [3] Two athletes represented Botswana: Karabo Kula and Wardell Ernest Samothsozo. Kula won the bronze medal in the women's –46 kg event. [8]
Denzel Seetso, Mark Nawa, Tshegofatso Tsiang and Ekua Refilwe Youri will represent Botswana in tennis. [3]
In June 2019 Botswana women's national volleyball team competed in the women's tournament at the 2019 African Games. [9] The men's team was also scheduled to compete but ultimately did not compete. [10]
Botswana competed in weightlifting. [3] Four weightlifters represented Botswana: Bokang Alphius Kagiso, Kgotla Alphius Kgaswane, Magdeline Moyengwa and Dikabelo Solomon.
Botswana competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's ninth appearance at the Olympics.
Morocco competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. This is the first time that Morocco hosted the competition. It is also the first time since the 1978 All-Africa Games that Morocco took part in the competition after being banned. In total, athletes representing Morocco won 31 gold medals, 32 silver medals and 46 bronze medals and the country finished in 5th place in the medal table.

On 17 August, judo events began two days before the opening ceremony on the first day, Algeria achieved 9 medals, including two gold medals by Wail Ezzine in weight 66 kg and Faïza Aissahine in weight 52 kg. On the second and last day were content with only two medals silver and bronze.
