Carabus Genus of beetles

Carabus is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae. The genus is highly diverse with 94 subgenera, 959 species and 2300 subspecies, thus is the largest genus in the subfamily Carabinae. The vast majority are native to the Palearctic, but 16 Nearctic species are also known. Carabus spp. are 12–50 mm (0.47–1.97 in) long, and most species are wingless and often very colourful. These are nocturnal, predatory beetles that feed on snails, earthworms, and caterpillars. Most Carabus species were thought to have inhabited the Eurasian forest, but the species' low dispersal abilities altered the distribution of lineages within the genus.

Agrilus Genus of beetles

Agrilus is a genus of jewel beetles, notable for having the largest number of species of any single genus in the animal kingdom.

The Doryctinae or doryctine wasps are a large subfamily of parasitoid wasps within the family Braconidae.

Anthaxia Genus of beetles

Anthaxia is a genus of beetles in the family Buprestidae.

Trachys (beetle) Genus of beetles

Trachys is a genus of beetles in the family Buprestidae, containing the following species:

Acmaeodera Genus of beetles

Acmaeodera is a genus of beetles in the family Buprestidae, a group of metallic wood-boring beetles favored by insect collectors. Whereas most beetles including most buprestids fly with their elytra held out and vibrating their hindwings to give lift and thrust, Acmaedodera, however, fly with their hind wings only — the elytra are fused down the center and form a shield over the insect's abdomen, even during flight. This fact, combined with the banding across the abdomen which is common in this family, gives many of them a distinct wasp-like appearance when in flight. Several are therefore considered hymenopteran mimics.

Duvalius Genus of beetles

Duvalius is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae. They are distributed from the Mediterranean area to northwestern China. They typically live in caves and in shallow subterranean spaces. Many species are rare and have very restricted distributions.

Chrysis (wasp) Genus of wasps

Chrysis is a very large genus of cuckoo wasps. It is the largest genus in the family, including over 1,000 species in over 20 subgenera, as speciose as all remaining Chrysididae combined. The generic name is derived from Greek chrysis, "gold vessel, gold-embroidered dress", and pays tribute to the brilliant metallic appearance of wasps in the genus.

Trissolcus Genus of wasps

Trissolcus is a genus of parasitoid wasps in the family Platygastridae. There are at least 180 described species in Trissolcus. They parasitize eggs of Pentatomorpha.

Hyptia Genus of wasps

Hyptia is a genus of ensign wasps in the family Evaniidae. There are at least 50 described species in Hyptia. Most Hyptia can be differentiated from other genera by heavily reduced venation of the forewings, wherein only one closed cell is present.

Aulacus Genus of wasps

Aulacus is a genus of aulacids, ensigns, and gasteruptiids in the family Aulacidae. There are 77 species of Aulacus.

Evania Genus of wasps

Evania is a genus of ensign wasps in the family Evaniidae. Like all members of the family, they are cockroach egg parasitoids. There are more than 60 described species in Evania. Evania appendigaster, the blue-eyed ensign wasp, is a common wasp found through most of the world.
