Gina Akpe-Moses (born 25 February 1999 in Lagos, Nigeria) is an Irish athlete specialising as a sprinter. In 2017 she became the European junior champion over 100 metres, the first Irish woman to win a sprint gold medal at that level. [1]
Arriving at the age of three in Dundalk, Gina Akpe-Moses started athletics at age 11 in St Gerald's AC, then specialised in sprinting. In 2014, she moved to Birmingham to join an elite British club.
In 2015, a 16-year-old Akpe-Moses competed at the European Athletics Under-20 Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden coming in fourth place as part of the women's 4 x 100 metres relay team. That same year, she won joint-silver medal in the 200 metres at the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
She earned a silver in the 100 metres run at the 2016 European U18 Championships in Tbilisi.
In 2017, Akpe-Moses took gold for the 100 m at the European U20 Championships held in Grosseto, Italy and again came fourth in the 4 x 100 metres relay. [2] [3]
In 2018, she won silver as part of the women's 4 × 100 m Irish team at the World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland, having also qualified for the final of the individual race. [4]

Jamile Samuel is a Dutch athlete sprinter, who specialises in the 100 and 200 metres. She won three bronze medals at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics, thus establishing herself as the third-fastest female runner under the age of 20 in the world. She won a gold medal with the Dutch women's 4 × 100 m relay team at the 2016 European Championships in Amsterdam.
Dafne Schippers is a Dutch retired track and field athlete who competed in sprinting and the combined events. She holds the European record in the 200 metres with a time of 21.63 seconds, making her the sixth-fastest woman of all time at this distance. She also holds the Dutch records in the 100 metres and long jump, and shares the Dutch records in the 60 metres indoor and 4 × 100 metres relay.

Gina Lückenkemper is a German track and field athlete who competes in the sprints. She won gold medals in the 100 metres and for the 4 × 100 m relay at the 2022 European Athletics Championships.
Ciara Mageean is a middle-distance runner from Portaferry in Northern Ireland who specialises in the 1500 metres. She is a three-time European Athletics Championship medallist at the event, with bronze in 2016 and silver in 2022 outdoors, and bronze in 2019 indoors. Mageean also won silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Filippo Tortu is an Italian sprinter with a personal best in the 100 meters of 9.99, the first Italian in history to break the 10 seconds barrier. He won the gold medal in 100 metres at the 2017 European U20 Championships and the silver medal at the 2016 World U20 Championships. He ran the anchor leg in the 4×100m relay of the Italian team that won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics and the silver medal at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. He has won medals at both European and World Championship level and was part of the German Athletics at the 2016 Summer Paralympics – Men's 4 × 100 metres relay team that won gold at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio.

Christopher O'Donnell is an Irish track and field athlete competing in sprinting events. He represented Ireland at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Mixed 4 x 400m relay where he was part of the first ever Irish team to run in an Olympic final, and was also part of the team who reached the final of the 2022 and 2023 World Championships. He is the current Irish U20 record holder in the 400 metres, with a time of 46.54, set on 22 July 2017 at the European U20 Championships, where he finished 6th in the final. His personal best of 45.26 seconds sits joint-2nd on the Irish all-time list and he is a 5-time National 400m champion.
