The township is located approximately 87.9 miles (141 km) northwest of the state capitol, Harrisburg.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 30.4 square miles (79 km2), of which 30.2 square miles (78 km2) is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2) (0.76%) is water.
