Gulickia alexandri is a species of air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Achatinellidae. [1] This species is endemic to Hawaii, the United States. [1]

Abarema is a neotropical genus of large trees in the legume family (Fabaceae). They grow from Mexico to Bolivia. Most of the species can be found in the Amazon Basin and the Guyana Highlands. They have a deep-green fernlike foliage, with bipinnately compound leaves.

One subspecies occurs in the Andaman islands, and one subspecies occurs in continental Southeast Asia and partly extending to northeastern parts of South Asia along the foothills of the Himalayas. Some of the island races may be threatened by the wild bird trade. The nominate race, which occurs in Java, is close to extinction.
