Hold Your Colour is the debut studio album by the Australian drum and bass band Pendulum,released on 25 July 2005 and later reissued in 2007 by Breakbeat Kaos. The album was mastered by Stuart Hawkes at Metropolis in London. [1] The album features collaborations with artists such as the DJs Fresh and TC,the MCs $pyda and Fats,vocalists from bands Freestylers and Halogen,and guitarists from bands Karnivool and Concord Dawn,together with Peredur ap Gwynedd.
Five singles were produced from the album,including "Slam" / "Out Here",the first single by Pendulum to reach the top 40 in the UK Singles Chart. [2] In addition,a non-album single,"Blood Sugar" / "Axle Grinder",released on 18 June 2007,later replaced "Another Planet" and "Still Grey" on the reissue of Hold Your Colour due to its popularity. [3]
Otherwise,the LP was released as a triple 12",and features,together with "Hold Your Colour",all the tracks that did not appear on any single. [4] A promotional LP contained also "Slam" / "Out Here". [5]
The album cover inspired the single cover for the later Pendulum release "Witchcraft".
The album received very positive critical attention in both Australia and the United Kingdom,becoming one of the best-selling drum and bass albums of all time,along with New Forms by Roni Size. 225,000 copies of Hold Your Colour were sold in the UK. [6] On 25 May 2008,it entered the top 40 of the UK Albums Chart for the first time,peaking at number 29 on 16 August. [2]
"Slam" was featured in the soundtrack for the video game MotorStorm on the PlayStation 3 console,and the Bipolar mix of "Hold your Colour" was featured on "FIFA Street 2", Dance Dance Revolution Universe on the Xbox 360 console and on the premiere episode of Sky1's Gladiators . [7] [8] It has also been picked up by the relaunched Nine's Wide World of Sports as an outro to the show and as a precursor to advertising breaks. The track "Tarantula" was featured in the Australian television drama series Underbelly ,in an episode of the UK series Skins and CSI:Miami ,and in the soundtrack for the video game MotorStorm:Pacific Rift . In the 2007 reissue, "Blood Sugar" and "Axle Grinder" took the place of "Another Planet" and "Still Grey". The reissue also contains gaps of silence at the end of each track. [3] "Plasticworld" is also written as "Plastic World"

Pendulum is an Australian electronic rock band founded in 2002. Pendulum originally formed in the city of Perth, Western Australia, by Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. The band was later expanded to include members Ben Mount, Peredur ap Gwynedd and KJ Sawka. The group is notable for its distinctive sound, mixing electronic music with hard rock and covering a wide range of genres.
Breakbeat Kaos is a British independent record label based in London, UK that specialises in drum and bass. It is jointly owned by Fresh and Adam F, who founded the label in 2003 by merging Fresh's Breakbeat Punk with Adam F's Kaos Recordings. The label's first release was a 12" double A-side single by Fresh titled "Dalicks / Temple of Doom". The following year the label released the single "Another Planet / Voyager" by Pendulum, which peaked at number one in the UK Dance Chart. They also produced their first full-length release with the compilation album Jungle Sound: The Bassline Strikes Back!.
Robert Swire-Thompson is an Australian record producer, singer, songwriter, and DJ. He is the founder and vocalist of the drum and bass and electronic rock band Pendulum, as well as DJ and co-founder of electro house duo Knife Party formed of Swire and Gareth McGrillen.
In Silico is the second studio album by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum, released in Australia and Europe on 12 May 2008 by Warner Bros. Records and in the United States a day later by Atlantic Records. The album represents a change in sound for the band from their debut album Hold Your Colour away from drum and bass, incorporating more rock and electronic influences. The album peaked at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart on 18 May 2008. Singles from the album include "Granite", "Propane Nightmares", "The Other Side" and "Showdown". Mini discs of the song "The Tempest" were thrown out to the audience of the "Project Rev" live show.
"Propane Nightmares" is a song by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum, released as the second single from their second album In Silico. It incorporates elements of the song "Million Miles from Home" by German happy hardcore band Dune. It has received significant airplay on BBC Radio 1, being played frequently by DJ Zane Lowe.

It was released as a double A-side by Breakbeat Kaos on 6 March 2006 in the UK. The single features two tracks from the album – a remix of "Hold Your Colour" and "Streamline". The song "Hold Your Colour" features guest guitarist Andrew Goddard and bassist Jon Stockman of Perth band Karnivool. The Bipolar mix of "Hold Your Colour" was featured on the soundtrack of FIFA Street 2. According to Rob Swire, the intro vocal sample in "Hold Your Colour" was taken from a track by Rob, Pendulum member Gareth McGrillen and ShockOne's old band Xygen. The track was titled "Lycaeum". Some lyrics from "Lycaeum" were used in Hold Your Colour.
"Another Planet" / "Voyager" is the second single by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum. It was released on 23 February 2004 by independent label Breakbeat Kaos, and was their first single to use the 12-inch picture disc format. The single peaked at number 46 in the UK Singles Chart, and reached number one in the UK Dance Chart.
"Back 2 You" / "Still Grey" is the third single by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum. It was released on 22 March 2004 by independent label Timeless Recordings, and was their first and only release with the label. The song "Still Grey" featured guest guitarist Evan Short of Concord Dawn, and was included on the CD edition of Hold Your Colour, released in July 2005.
"Tarantula" / "Fasten Your Seatbelt" is the fourth single by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum. It was released on 27 June 2005 by independent label Breakbeat Kaos and was their second release with the label. While "Fasten Your Seatbelt" features production from The Freestylers, "Tarantula" features production from Fresh and vocals from $pyda, together with Tenor Fly from The Freestylers. It peaked number 60 on the UK Singles Chart. Both songs were included on the CD release of Hold Your Colour a month later. "Fasten Your Seatbelt" samples a line from Spider-Man 2 where Doctor Octopus is firing up the fusion reactor for the first time, as well as the sound the reactor made when it was being primed.

It peaked number 34 on the UK Singles Chart. Both songs have been included on their CD release of Hold Your Colour in July 2005. "Slam", as well as the "Prelude" track from Hold Your Colour, samples spoken word sections from the Headhunterz song "Rock Civilization". When the song is performed live with the full band, the first minute and a half is cut out and replaced by part of the Metallica song, "Master of Puppets". However, when the song was played in DJ sets prior to 2006, the track "Prelude" was played before it, as "Slam" was always the first track played.
"Blood Sugar" is a song by Australian drum and bass band Pendulum, released as a single on 18 June 2007 in the United Kingdom. It was the band's final single with the Breakbeat Kaos label, and was released on 12-inch vinyl. Both tracks were later added to the 2007 reissue of the group's debut album, Hold Your Colour, due to their popularity. "Axle Grinder" contains samples from the United States TV show, The Twilight Zone and when run through a spectrogram; the song contains an image of Porky Pig giving the middle finger at the very end.
"Showdown" is the fourth single and first track from the album In Silico by Australian electronic rock band Pendulum. It has been remixed by several artists, including DJ Clipz and Excision. It is also the first single taken from In Silico not to use the album logo prominently on its cover.

It featured tracks from artists such as Fresh, Pendulum and Adam F. The album was mixed by Paul Harding from Pendulum, although there was no mention of it in the original artwork.
Immersion is the third studio album by Australian band Pendulum. The album was announced in early 2009, with the name being confirmed in December 2009. The album was released on 21 May 2010 in Australia and Ireland, and on 24 May for the rest of the world, followed by a UK tour of the album. In January 2010, Pendulum hosted the album preview Ear Storm event at Matter in London in which many top DJs performed sets of their own with Pendulum being the headliners.
"Witchcraft" is the second single from Australian drum and bass band Pendulum from their third studio album, Immersion. It was released as a digital single on iTunes on 18 July 2010, with the CD single being released the following day. It debuted at number sixty-two on the UK Singles Chart following high numbers of downloads from the release of the album. The music video was shot on 2 June 2010 and finished on 25 June, as confirmed by Rob Swire's Twitter feed.

Despite being announced as a new album in early 2018, the album sole contains remixed versions of titles that appeared on their three studio albums Hold Your Colour, In Silico and Immersion or had been single B-sides.
