Hosea is a genus of flowering plant in the family Lamiaceae, first described in 1908. It contains only one known species, Hosea lobbii. It is endemic to the Island of Borneo (Sultanate of Brunei + Sarawak region of Malaysia). [1]

The period of Hosea's ministry extended to some sixty years, and he was the only prophet of Israel of his time who left any written prophecy.
The Lamiaceae or Labiatae are a family of flowering plants commonly known as the mint or deadnettle or sage family. The parchment of 4Q166, 17.5 cm by 16.8 cm in size, is estimated from late first century B.C.E. The manuscript is the larger of two unrelated fragments of the Hosea Commentary found in Cave 4. The script, which is identical to that of a commentary on Psalms, belongs to the rustic, semiformal type of the Herodian era.
