Critical reception

In his weekly UK chart commentary, James Masterton wrote, "Their second hit single is if anything even better than the first, more of a proper pop song and an instant radio smash. It crashes in one place higher than its predecessor and certainly deserves to at least match its peak." [2]

It received positive reviews from music critics and also reached No. 3 in the Netherlands. Additionally, it became a top-20 hit in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, and Italy. On the Eurochart Hot 100, "Two Can Play That Game" peaked at No. 10. This version of the song appeared on Brown's remix album of the same name, released later in 1995.

It was a sizeable hit in several countries, particularly in the United Kingdom and Finland, where it entered the top 10, reaching number nine and four, respectively. The single entered the Eurochart Hot 100 at number 87 on 11 December 1993 and peaked at number 10 on 19 February 1994. However, it did not reach the same level of success as "What Is Love" and "Life". By March 1994, worldwide sales had reached 300,000 units.

However, two years later, the song was used in the popular Levi's advertisement "Taxi", and it was re-released on 6 March 1995. This time, the single was a success, reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart and becoming the group's only top-20 hit. The song was also a moderate hit in western Europe and New Zealand.

"Love & Devotion" is a song by German Eurodance/pop music project Real McCoy. Originally an album track featured on their second album, Space Invaders (1994), it was later released in Europe in 1995 as a Real McCoy single. For unknown reasons, it was not released in the US by Arista. It was produced in Germany by music producers Juergen Wind and Frank Hassas (Quickmix) under the producer team name Freshline. The single peaked within the top 10 in Australia, Finland, Lithuania and Scotland, and reached number 11 in the UK.

"Happy" is a song originally recorded by British funk band Hi-Tension in 1984, titled as "You Make Me Happy". In 1987, it was covered by Surface from their self-titled album. A hit single, Surface's version reached number 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and number 16 on the Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales chart. "Happy" was also featured on Surface's album Perfect 10 and was produced by Bernard Jackson, David "Pic" Conley and David Townsend.

It became a hit also in other countries, such as Finland, where it peaked at number five and in Belgium, Ireland, Scotland, Sweden and Switzerland, where the single reached the top 30.
